Not a huge area but worth a walk around. The antique/junk shops were good - really wish I had bought there as advice to buy elsewhere on tour was wrong, some good buys.

It was lovely to find a cafe where you could sit out on the balcony and watch the world go by. The traders were all enthusiastic and obviously tried to sell to us but they didn't go over the top and there was no rancour if we didn't but so that was fun.

Though there are hardly any Jews left in Cochin, this site does tell you how they lived in prosperity a hundred years ago.The shops, restaurants and curios are pure Jewish. There is even an old synagogue which is interesting to go to.Worth browsing thru for an hour or so....

The stores were great and we were able to get some great stiff here. The store personnel were friendly and doing their job in a earnest and perseverant way, too funny the way they made you feel like you were the only ones on the street. Hilarious.

We loved Jew town the shops were so quaint and the handmade embroidery was magnificent, with fantastic table cloths.
We also spent time in the spice shops buying local fresh spices.
