Beautiful place. Loved to walk along the coast. Take pictures of Chinese fishing nets, especially at sunset. Buy local fishes that you like and hand it over to the restaurant(only certain restaurants have this option though) and they will make delicious curries with that.

Most hotels and restaurants care for Foreigners only, as they can pay higher. For Indian tourists, this is not a very favorable place to stay, esp. if you're on a tight budget.

I was so looking forward to visiting Fort Kochi after all I had read about it. Unfortunately I found little that was pleasant as the streets were strewn with litter and dogs roamed at will. Some interesting buildings but little effort is made to make the area attractive (or safe) for tourists.

Visited kerala for the first time in my life. Truly out of the world experience, nature is so beautiful out here that you start loving it from word go. Good people, clean place, well connected, affordable conveyance, on top of all must visit for all. Its heaven on earth, ride in back water will give you the life time enjoyment. Fort Cochin gives you the feeling of sleepy town, all heritages buildings, etc......

This place is regarded as little Goa by many. There are many anglo-indians still staying here. There is a Jewish synagogue. The Chinese fishing net is a must see especially during sun set. There are so many small stalls near the beach where you can have fresh fish. So many trees on the side makes an awesome path to walk on. There are many antique stores near the beach, but they are a bit expensive by Indian standards, though people from richer economies will still find it cheaper. Worth visiting, as most people are tourist friendly (lot of foreigners visit this place).
