My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights. It is a nice place. The rooms were quite nice as we got a nice view. The rooms were quite spacious and bathrooms were nice too. The service of the hotel was good as well because they cleaned the room promptly. Only problem was that we got food poisoning!! It was probably the water.. we are not sure.. ofcourse the color of the sea is not blue at all like in the photos! it is actually grey or even black!! and I thought the hotel could have done something to keep some of the surrounding area cleaner.

The hotel was quite crowded over the weekend esp because some of the Indian families had come on tour..

the staff at the rice boat were very friendly and helpful.. they made us order more than what we could eat :).. we actually ended up having two dinners!! and the food is really nice..

cochin is a nice place.. but we were told by many people (after we visited the place!) that not many tourists actually stay at this place for so long..

we later stayed at the kumarakom lake resort and the leela kempinski. Kumarakom was the best hotel is terms of service and facilities. and the leela had a great location. although taj did not have that great a location, the rooms, food and service of some staff was good.

the only negative side was that when my husband accidentally took internet conection for 24 hours and when he asked immediately whether he can change it fo rone hour, we were told by front desk that they cannot do anything about it. this was a real disappointment for us because obviously the hotel could have changed this.

I had stayed at Hotel Taj Malabar, Kochi with my colleagues from Wartsila. It was an exciting experience.

Especially the multicuisine restaurant (especially the sea food), the complementary boat ride in the backwaters, cold beer at the lobby bar etc.

Most memorable thing during this stay was that we bagged order for 8x3MWe DG sets for ADS project fromm Cochin Shipyard Ltd., Kochi.

Nice hotel with good pool and facilities, spoiled by two separate business conferences being in, one which had taken over the best restaurant and the second that did team games outside your window before breakfast, good, but if you want better go to the Brunton Boatyard.

Stayed for 4 days at the Taj Malabar, Cochin.

The hotel is located right at the edge of the sea and the pool also overlooks the water. A sea facing room on a higher floor gives a great view of the sea & the huge ships/ trawlers that go by.
The hotel is located quite a distance from the main city & transport could be a problem if you don't have a car with you.

Hotel has very good restaurants serving great sea food with good buffet and ala carte options. The spa is great with the ayurvedic massage to be a must do when you are there.

As with all TAJ hotels, the service is absolutely superb ,making the stay a memorable one.
