“Good at sunset”
Reviewed February 22, 2014

An iconic landmark of Fort Cochin area. Good for photographing silhoutte images at sunset.
One can pay a small token to the fishermen and experience fishing on these nets.

However, the vendors selling souvenirs at this spot are sometimes annoying for tourists.

“Iconic image”

You see pictures of these in most references to Cochin. It was interesting to watch them in action. There are also vendors along the beach in that area selling postcards and handicrafts.

“Fascinating thing to see and experience.”
Reviewed February 19, 2014

You can really stare at this for a long while, to see what the fisherman catches. Be warned, if you get into the platform and wait for the operator to allow you to operate it and take pictures, you must be prepared to pay some amount for the workers on the fishing net. Don't be too lavish with your giving, because it puts a pressure on the tourists that come after you, as the workers expects the same.

“make sure to see these at sunset”
Reviewed February 19, 2014

we were fortunate to be on a small tour boat as the sun was setting, so had beautiful views of these historic nets. The following day, we visited the wharf where they are located and it was extremely interesting to see how they worked
