“Great Location for a Get Together”
Reviewed February 26, 2012

Never thought of such a great get together to happen in this hot climate of Kerala. Really enjoyed the beautiful environment, food, music, beach and backwater. Never seen 25 varieties of fish on one dining table. Really enjoyed the fish curry meals. Really a nice place to enjoy and relax.

If you love fish, a stay at 'Fishermans Nest' is absolutely recommended. Starting with the fish shaped name board welcoming you, to the fish lamp shades, this place is a fish lovers paradise. Fresh fish from the nearby Munambam fishing harbour, a barbeque to grill the fish and a bamboo themed sit out to enjoy your meal; this place is a delight.

A well maintained lawn to laze around and a with hammock thrown in, this place is perfect for you to do just nothing on your vacation.

And whatever happens, don't miss out on visiting Njarakkal fish farm and Munambam fishing harbour both of which are a short drive away.

we stayed a night at fisherman's nest while going to munnar. it was pouring down heavenly when we reached the nest. it was serene surrounded by full of greenery. liked the room service, though i would recommend a TV inside the room and a microwave oven in the kitchen. this place is certianly not for any site seeing. just for relaxation this is fine.

I am a Tour Executive. I have stayed at so many properties over the world. In this property is the one of the nice property. They have only limited rooms but the rooms are well furnished and very clean. They have a good garden in front of the property. I really enjoyed with my friends. They provide a very tasty Sea food. I personally recommend you should stay there.

We were travelling to Cochin for a friend's wedding, and opted to stay at a beach place the night before. Cherai beach resort was an option, but we chose to check out Fisherman's Nest since we were going to spend only the evening. On contacting, they informed us that the place was getting ready but that all facilities are in usable state. We confirmed.

Arrival into Cherai was smooth. There is a long narrow, but traversable road into the town. Went straight to the beach first. Spent sometime walking along it, and then decided to get freshen up. It was not quite humid though, but perhaps the long journey from Peermade (hill station) to Cherai, a beach place made us sweaty a little bit :)-

Fisherman's Nest is located in a residential area. Unlike the main road of the town, the place quite peaceful. The hotel had ample car parking space in the front. The reception area was done very neatly with some art work of an anchor, and the furniture too from coconut tree material. The sea affair continued into their restaurant/relaxation area which had a nice little boat, which is quite popular on the kerala backwaters, and we were served some refreshments in that area.

We had opted for 2 rooms for 4 of us. Both were clean and had the new feeling in them. The AC was good and powerful. It was quite breezy that evening, and we opted to stay at the hotel instead of going back to the beach. One of our members had fond memories of his childhood at Cherai, and he went out to bring some special food. Meanwhile, we settled down in the relaxation area. The hotel had a back-yard, where apparently we could pick up fresh vegetables directly from the plants before our meals :)- This was the stuff that the management informed wasnt ready yet during our stay !

The night was othewise peaceful. We moved into the AC rooms from their breezy balcony/portico after our dinner and got up fresh in the morning. Breakfast was swift with traditional kerala varieties, and we hit the road once again to Cochin.

Overall, Fisherman's Nest was a clean, nice place. I didnt realise that we were there only for one-evening :)-

I travelled to Cherai from Bangalore with couple of my friends for a weekend getaway and was looking for a homely place to stay. More than a place to stay, we were looking at some place where they can serve us with delicious homely food. It was quite accidental that we met Mr. Lijosh who offered us his place 'Fisherman's Nest' for the stay.
We found this place, 'Fisherman's Nest', a great place to relax and rewind. The rooms were clean and well appointed. Lijosh, who is an artist himself, has done a personal care in decorating the rooms to the theme. Has got a good library and an outdoor area where you could sip a cup of hot tea and enjoy the cool sea breeze. There is ample parking space.
The food was amazing. Lijosh makes sure that he gets the best catch of the day into his kitchen. He did spend some time with us to understand our food taste and has taken special care to see that the food is prepared to our liking. With the blend of local traditional way of cooking and the freshness of ingredients added with Lijosh's personal touch made the food delicious.
To make it short, that was a wonderful stay and would like to visit again and again.

Cheers to Lijosh and his Fisherman's Nest!!!
