First off the location is great. The room we had was pretty basic but clean. The owner is really nice and helpfull. Gave us info about good places to eat and things to do around. I would come back again if I was to be in Cochin...

Room Tip: Just ask to see what is available

As our previous homestay had been pre-booked by others, we decided to move a little closer to the port. We had no regrets with our choice, and found Spice Garden to be a lovely place to spend a few days. The owners are extremely helpful and friendly - we shared some excellent discussions, humour (the longi tyeing lesson was great fun!) and even music. Advice provided (travel agent) was also excellent. The location was excellent and our room (upstairs overlooking the school grounds) large, quiet, clean and bugless. If we ever return to Kochi, we would be very happy to stay here again for its convenience and pleasant vibe.

Room Tip: Upstairs rooms facing the school are pleasant.

Spice Holidays is a wonderful little place tucked into a quiet and very accessible street, right beside the ‘tourist centre’ – Princess St. This is a new place, in-between a hotel and a homestay. The new building is bright and new with clean white walls, and good bathrooms with modern fittings. The rooms in the old building – ground floor, are cheaper but get no sunlight. We stayed in a room called ‘Mace’ on the second floor, overlooking the courtyard. It had ample furniture for storage and what-not. We paid 800/night and would definitely recommend this room.
There were no meals served here, but right next door is the popular restaurant ‘Fort House.” However you need to go in early for breakfast, because by 10 everything had gotten over. The other thing to remember is that the main gate at shuts before 11, after which you need to call to enter.

Room Tip: The rooms facing the courtyard are nicer. But they also offer a view of the Old wing of the building...

great location in a quite street. the building in the back is all new but there are also some cheaper rooms downstairs in the main building.
in the back of the building there is a large empty field and across of it a mosque, so if you dont like to wake up early this might not be the place for you.... otherwise it's a real quite place

Spice holidays is a very pretty place with very clean, beautiful rooms (I was in the new building) and is very well located in the center of Fort Cochi. The owner and his wife are very helpful and friendly, and if you ask early enough, they will cook the most delicious masala dosa for your breakfast, yummy ! I would definitely recommend this place to all travelers !

The hotel is located in Fort Kochi which is the touristic place of the city. We were very close to the sea and the chinese nets. The room was okay but quite humid and with very little natural light as located in the ground floor. The price was okay : 400 rupees / night. The hotel is run by a nice family who lives in the frist floor.

Stayed only one night but found it a relaxing and quiet place in the middle of all the activities of Fort Kochin.

The rooms are of reasonable size, clean and most importantly have good mosquito nets on all windows. The included sheets and towels were an unexpected convenience, the owner happily offered us a knife and cutting board for fruits we had bought. You can also use their washing line if you need to do some washing.

We stayed in a bright double room with bathroom, fan, looking out to a sports field for 1200 Rs (high season). You definitely pay for the location, but the owner's helpfulness does make up for some of the high price.
