Try the Karimeen Pollichathu, its simply fabulous with Rice and Kerala Fish Curry. Its simply amazing. You will find a traditional preparation if you can request the chef.

We liked everything here - prawn starters, fresh fish made in south Indian and of course their service.

“Pricey, but well worth it”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 7, 2014

We came here for a special occasion, and are glad for it.

The staff bent over backwards to accommodate us; we saw them give the same attentive level of service to the other tables in the restaurant. The service was one of the best we've had in India - courteous, friendly, professional, and unobtrusive are a few of the words I'd use to describe the waitstaff - up to our waiter quickly realizing that we like spicy, interesting Indian dishes and going out of his way to bring us little tasting bowls of simple goodies not on the menu that he'd asked the chef to put together (we were among the last diners).

The food was delicious, varied, and interesting, mixing together some of the better elements of high-end South Indian food that I've seen so far. My only suggestion would be to ask guests whether they'd like their dishes really spicy and then adjusting accordingly - but this is something pretty much all gourmet Indian restaurants we've seen so far have in common, and here it in no way detracted from the quality of the food.

Okay, so the hotel faces a busy harbor, but at night, this doesn't really matter - it actually looks kind of cool with the lights.

The location is also beautifully furnished and decorated, the wine list is decent, and did I mention the service was absolutely top notch?

“What a treat!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2014

This is definitely one of the best restaurants in Kochi and defines fine dinning in the region. The setting, food and desserts were simply magical. The fish and sauces were mouthwatering. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to be spoilt...

“5 star food, 5 start service,...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 15, 2013 via mobile

OK, I admit it... I was sceptical before we arrived. Kochi had some fantastic restaurants where you can eat excellent food for less than a ubiquitous Western fast food meal so why visit a 5 star hotel situated on its own for a meal?

Let's get the money out of the way. Our meal for two with a couple of beers, soft drinks and water came to 6,900 rupees, let's say £70. Very expensive by Cochin standards...(or a basic meal for two in London - sad but true).

Service was impeccable and very friendly, effectively or own waiter who knew the food inside out, offered recommendations (which are well worth listening to) and talked about the history of Cochin and the local food.

Food wise we got an amuse-bouche of a crab mousse. Starters of beautifully cooked squid in chilli, huge King Prawns in a smooth but flavoursome sauce, accompanied by a naan bread. This was followed by a kiwi sorbet.

For the main we originally were thinking about a couple of their standard dishes but speaking to the waiter, he suggested we both tried a fish cooked three ways: fried in a Masala sauce, baked in banana leaf and curried, all to be accompanied by paratha. They excelled: not only did we get the above, which was beautiful, but instead of three ways, they brought us a second version of the curried fish to try as well. Add to that rice, Appams and rice noodles... A great meal in itself.

And it continued: I had a trilogy of Cardamon puddings; the wife, a chocolate and filo pastry with mango dessert. All superb and leaving plenty of thoughts on how it could be replicated in the UK.

Add to that coffee and some little chocolates, a great meal.

The hotel looks like any good hotel, but the restaurant / rice boat is well thought out and we'll with the visit of you are staying in Cochin.
