“Gem in Cochin!”
Reviewed December 2, 2012

I spent 3 nights here and was so greatful to have the comforts of this hotel - it is spacious, clean, cool and refreshing, qualities that were much appreciated in the heat of Cochin. I particularly liked the decor - a successful combination of minimalism, dotted with Indian antiques. In fact, the owner has a chain of antique stores in town, called Crafters. Service was a bit spotty in the effectiveness of staff (though not in their kindness and availability); food was good (though not amazing); beds were very comfy.

Tissa's Inn was a last minute stay due to having to make a change to our itinerary and we were glad to have found this, after reading some great reviews on Tripadvisor.

Room was a great size, with everything we needed. Rooftop pool was lovely and overall this was fantastic value for money given it's central location in Fort Kochi.

On top of being a clean and modern hotel, Tissa Inn is decorated with a very pleasing aesthetic. The owner has a large collection of antiques which he places throughout the property with tasteful restraint. This made a strong impression.

The location is great, just about everything is within walking distance or a short rickshaw ride.

Staff is courteous and helpful -- except once when they encouraged us to use the phone in our room without noting the rather high charges. Internet was rather weak when we stayed there -- you can only get it at the lobby and not from your room.

Room Tip: The rooms at the front of the hotel are noisier and less private (curtain opens and you're looki...

Tisa inn. Indian good taste, just enough very beautiful indian antics in the hall and in the stairs Confortable bedrooms with very good room service.A special attention for the very goods advices about the trip organization given by francis. Just one remark, the restaurant perhaps is too classic. Perfect

From start to finish, our short stay was a pleasure: the accommodation was attractive and clean, the staff helpful, the food tasty... and the roof-top swimming pool was a delightful addition! Picture swimming in the cooling early evening, looking at swaying palm trees and hearing the call to prayer sound out across the city - idyllic. Well placed to explore the town, close to a wide variety of restaurants and with street transport readily available, Tissa's Inn met all of our requirements.

I stayed at Tissa's for a week in November and it was my Indian home away from home. Every single member of staff was very kind and went out of their way to make their guests feel comfortable. Francis manages the place with love and care, and it feels like a calm oasis. Everything is beautifully maintained and sparkling clean,it is one of the best gust houses I have experienced on my travels around the world. My travel companion had to head home earlier due to work commitments, but I felt very safe on my own. Christina, Sanita, Mejo, Arun and Francis really looked after me like they would for their sisters. They all helped to make my first trip to India a very enjoyable experience and I will definitely be back before long!

Room Tip: Number 3 is lovely and quiet at the back with a nice garden view

My wife and I stayed here at the end of September. The hotel is extremely well placed in Fort Kochi, close to all of the sights. The hotel itself was spotlessly clean and the staff were all exceptionally helpful. The manager, Mr Francis, was particularly good. We had arrived in Kochi for a two week tour of Kerala. Due to work commitments, I hadn't had time to arrange anything. Mr Francis introduced me to a travel agent contact of his, Mr Dax, who organised an excellent varied tour of the centre and southern part of the state. It was a most memorable holiday.

This is a great place to kick off a Kerala tour. I think two days are enough in Kochi prior to heading inland. The hotel is not expensive and provides great value for money. Well done to all who work there !
