Worth the price and the 2 hours spent there. The kalari payad (martial arts) display is a highlight. Great showmanship.

Our first-day guide in Cochin tried to dissuade us from visiting the Kerala Folklore Museum, but after visiting it on another day while in the area, we couldn't imagine why she wouldn't recommend it. It is a beautiful collection of folk art, archeological finds, and cultural treasures that are fascinating and will deepen any visitor's understanding of Kerala. The museum building itself is well worth a visit, with carved panels and ceilings that are works of art in themselves. We were also pleased to stumble on some artifacts and paintings for sale on the second floor at reasonable prices. This should be on everyone's must-see list while in Cochin. One word of warning: it is not air conditioned and can seem stuffy, so time your visit for the coolest part of the day.

I love theatre and art of any form, I love the mystical folk lore of Kerela, specially if it is done in the dance forms and the story is spun into it.

There are 3 floors to the museum. Various artifacts are stored in each level. But what amazed me is the style of construction of each level... each one is distinct and has a story to tell. The very spacious 3rd floor holds performances for groups. the ceiling is decorated with some 300 odd mural paintings... All in all, a must see when you are in Ernakulam.
