Patrick and Mary are the perfect hosts. Along with their children they welcomed us into their home after organising a car to meet us at the airport. Breakfast as has been said before is superb and really too much to eat. Patrick is happy to recommend trips and tours of the area. We will be going back.

Friendly and sincere host. Excellent breakfast. Clean room and clean toilet with hot water. Free WiFi. Quite and safe neighbourhood. walking distance to tourist attraction, for example chinese fishing net, Dal Roti (serve super delicious indian food), Dutch Cemetary, Kerala Kathakali Center, etc.

I would advise you to book in advance as it is very popular.

stayed here for 12 days 28/01/13 . A taxi was sent and waiting for us at the airport . patrick and Mary made us feel very welcome at the homestay .The room was large clean with a/c hot water /shower refrigerator , was cleaned daily and bed linen changed daily - outside the room was a terrace where we could read/sunbathe. The breakfasts were fresly cooked each day with awide selection of fruit juices rice dishes omlettes which set you up for the day - a five star hotel would not give a better selection
Patrick organised tours around Cochin and Kerela and ensured everthing went to plan, on arrival he showed us aroud the area where to change money /good restaurants etc and helped us sort out a phone to phone home . In my opinion this was a great place to stay and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Cochin and Kerela

Room Tip: you will not be dissapoined staying here

Patrick and Mary are a pair of exceptional host. Patrick is laid back and attentive to your needs, Mary cooks the BEST breakfast you can find in INDIA. her appam and egg curry is to die for, and I'd love to get another taste of it!

the room is clean and very comfortable, with all the comforts you'd need - hair dryer, hot water, kettle, mosquito net. Patrick hooked us up with backwater tours and kathakali tickets, and both are excellent. his house is just a few minutes away from town - lovely and quiet.

both of them went for the extra mile to accommodate us - we wanted to stay another night but they were already fully booked, so Patrick found another homestay for us that didn't have WiFi and breakfast. he graciously invited us to his house when we needed WiFi, and for Mary's super breakfasts. they even missed church waiting for us when we didn't turn up for breakfast :( so sorry Patrick and Mary!

for travellers looking for an authentic, clean, safe place to stay in fort cochin with excellent hosts - THIS is your place, look no further :) Heavenly Home Stay comes very highly recommended, book without a second thought!

Patrick and Mary are the most generous, unassuming and welcoming hosts. They greeted me at 2am in the morning on my arrival and took the trouble to ensure that I'm settled in nicely before calling it a night. The room is fantastic and their local homecooked breakfast is absolutely scrumptious (and in rather large portions too). The homestay is also in a good location for exploring fort cochin.

As a solo traveller, I really appreciate the genuine hospitality and personal attention afforded by a small and well-run homestay. I stayed for only 2 nights, but wished that I had more time there.

We stayed with Patrick and Mary for three nights in January, and we can absolutely confirm all the positive reviews. The family is very warm and friendly and made us feel right at home, greeting us with delicious pineapple smoothies. Patrick has experience in the hotel industry and this is reflected in the details of the service and the room. It was immaculately clean, and stocked with a kettle and packets of instant coffee etc and a bottle of mineral water. The bathroom was brand new and well designed with a separate shower area. Our room was on the ground floor, and although it had a separate entrance through the garden, we never felt the need to use it and instead always entered through the main door of the house.

The Kerala breakfast was amazing, Mary is an excellent cook and served a feast every morning. Our favourite was dahl and deep-fried puffed bread accompanied by fruit salad, papaya, pineapple smoothies plus omelettes, toast, tea, coffee and a bottle of water for us to take for the day. She uses the freshest ingredients, even buying rice and wheat grains and having them ground into the flour which she uses for the various types of bread she makes.

Patrick was very helpful and organized a trip of the backwaters about an hour away from Cochin for 600 rs (cheaper than another quote we had) and even walked with us to a local spice store where we were able to purchase a large bag of masala spices for only 150 rs.

Heavenly Homestay is located in a quiet residential area, and since we found the center of Fort Cochin quite busy / touristy, we appreciated the 15 minute walk back from town.

Thanks to Patrick and his family we had a great time in Fort Cochin, and would highly recommend Heavenly Homestay.

Even though they were fully Booked, they referred us a great place just down the street (Holiday Home). Let us us his WiFi whenever we wanted, always offered tea, and even drove us to the hospital when we needed. The property is beautiful and relaxing. Location is good, being walking distance to severeal nice restaurants. Would recommend this home stay 100%.
