We booked a table earlier in the day, and were shown to the candlelit courtyard, where three men were playing Indian music. The food was very good, a salad, one veg trio of dishes and a fisherman's plate, and chocolate samosas for dessert ... all of which would have been enhanced if we could have shared a bottle of wine, at this, one of the few licensed restaurants in town, but beware, they cannot serve alcohol on the first of the month, so we just had water. By Indian standards, the bill was expensive at 2000 rupees, but everything was very lovely, just avoid the 1st if you're hoping for a tipple.

Truly gourmet Indian food. The best we had in India so I highly recommend this restaurant (we stayed at the hotel and found it delightful).

We booked this resturant as fancied a change from curry and the menu looked great. We were not disappointed. The resturant is set around the pool with lots of candles, greenery and a small stage were later in the evening they plaid live Indian music.
The atmosphere was great and it felt quite a romantic/intimate resturant as not loads of tables ( worth booking as resturant was full). The service was second to none and the food top notch. I had tuna starter, beef in chili/coffee main course and the chic pudding. All delightful especially the beef. We could not purchase any wine due to it being a "dry" day in kochi which was a shame but not the fault of the resturant which does service alcohol when allowed by the rules of kochi.
The resturant is not the cheapest but you get what you pay for and we really felt it was worth paying a little extra for the lovely evening we had.
Just a point to be aware of, the resturant is outside and didn't seem to have any fans or firman thing to cool you down so we did get a little warm. So maybe not a good choice if visiting fort kochi when at its hottest. Maybe they have some form of keeping you cool but we didn't see any evidence of it that night.
The hotel itself also looks awesome and I would live to stay there if visiting fort kochi again

Billed as the best place to eat in Cochin it is very over priced and although the service is great and the setting is very pleasant there are plenty of other places that are as good for almost half the price. Particularity annoyed that over 20% in taxes and service were added and still the staff expected to be tipped as they did not get the service charge.

The setting is amazing, in the garden of the renovated hotel, surrounded by lamps and candles. Soft flute music is being played by a live artist.
And then, finally, comes the menu: prices are quite high, but we settle for one of the few veg options. Food takes a long time to arrive, and the additional chapati we ordered takes another 20 minutes, until a waiter comes by and says that they ran out of chapatis. Portions are also small.
