5 of us stayed here over Christmas (4 nights). Three of us stayed on the first floor (right near the breakfast table) and 2 of us stayed upstairs. The rooms are spotlessly clean and well maintained; however, I think the room on the 2nd floor was nicer and a bit quieter. The whole building is nicely decorated and the large balcony is a pleasant place to read and hang out. Also, the rooms have screens to keep out mosquitoes and fans to keep it cool (if you don't want AC). And Raji will clean the room and change the sheets after two nights to keep things fresh and comfortable.
Kumar and his manager, Shaji, are awesome - very professional, friendly, and willing to help with whatever you need. As an example, in between taking professional development courses to become official guides, Shaji and Kumar took a trip across town to buy cake and wine for a small Christmas celebration with us. This was totally of their own accord - not something we asked for. It was such a thoughtful thing to do, to take time to share a bit of Indian Christmas tradition with us, we were really touched and it left me with a positive impression of their warmth and professionalism. Also, Raji makes mean toast and coffee - great way to start the day.
I can absolutely recommend this homestay for its cleanliness, comfort, and overall nice experience. Kudos to Kumar and Shaji for running a great place.
