“I felt so safe and so welcomed by the whole family”

I actually stayed at Adams Wood for the first part and last part of my trip to this beautiful area.
From the moment I was met at the airport to the moment I was dropped off Firoz was an impecable host, anticipating my needs almost before I did!
I got to experience some incredible events I would never have navigated on my own.
The accomodation is lovely, very, very clean and comfortable.
In the early AM "life begins",birds calling, animals vocalising, humans doing their thing and then the call to prayer,I loved it but for some it might be a liitle much,so I do suggest some earplugs
In the middle of the trip I stayed at a "Ritzy Hotel" once there I wished I was back with Firoz and his adorable family.
I highly recommend Adams Wood House

A group of 4 stayed at Adams WoodHouse and was a very nice experience. Firoz was very kind and helpful. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Is a good option for budget travellers who prefer to stay in touch with local people and experience a real taste.

The guesthouse owner is by far the best part of this place. He is friendly yet respectful of your space and extremely helpful. He even went as far as to hail the bus for us each morning! The rooms are very clean - and I have very difficult standards to meet in regards to cleanliness. It is a bit further from the tourist centre of Fort Cochin, but a quick tuk tuk ride or a few minutes on the local bus were just fine. We didn't feel inconvenienced by the slight distance at all as the good value of the guesthouse more than made up for it. We stayed for nearly a week.

We spent our first night in India with Firoz at Adams Woodhouse. Firoz arranged a pick up from the airport and was there to welcome us at his home despite it being very early in the morning.
Despite waking late (noon) Firoz provided us with breakfast and also helped us find our feet in Fort Cochin, directing us to the main attractions and changing up money for us. During our 3 nights staying in Fort Cochin we were really glad we stayed at Adams Woodhouse.
The homestay is an easy rikshaw ride from town, which is cheap. It is near to the Mattancheery palace, Jew town and the Synagogue. Firoz has some excellent plans for the future. It is just his first year so he is finding his feet but having been trained in some of the worlds best hotels and working for diplomats you can expect great service.

We'd like to say thank you to Firoz and all the best for the future.

Firoz Khan and his family provided us with great service and great accommodation throughout our stay in Kochi.

We arrived after a 9 hour car journey from Ooty and Firoz’s nephew kindly translated and lent us his mobile phone so that we could deal with our painful driver, while Firoz’s wife provided us with fresh lime water to replenish our sugar levels.

Adamswood has been open for a couple of years and has four rooms (three doubles, one with adjoining single), located on the top of the family residence in a very nice residential area of Kochi – over the course of two stays (four nights) we slept in every room apart from the single:

We initially stayed in the fan-cooled room which was spotlessly clean and well maintained. The bathroom for this room is not ensuite and lacks hot water, but is still private, literally a step away from the room, brand new and again very clean.

On our second night we upgraded to the front A/C room as we found Kochi to be too warm and we wanted instant access to hot water. Again the room and (ensuite) bathroom were modern, well maintained and very clean.

On our last two nights (upon our return from the backwaters) we stayed in the A/C room at the back. Again like the other rooms it is brand new, well maintained and spotless. In addition it has a very comfy bed – we slept very well those nights.

Throughout our stay Firoz looked after us very well – he told us that much of his career was spent working for five star hotels in the middle east and it shows – his rooms and in particular bathrooms could be the best we have seen in our India travels. He briefed us about the local area, offered coffee and tea regularly (the ginger tea is delicious), gave us access to the internet and organised reliable (and reasonable) taxis for our journey to Alleppey and back.

We found Adamswood house to be an excellent choice for a reasonably priced Kochi stay. The only potential downside is that it is a tuk-tuk or bus ride to Fort Kochi. However, Jewtown and all other facilities (restaurants, bars etc) you might need are located within walking distance.

I absolutely LOVED staying at Adams Woodhouse - Firoz and his family make you feel really welcome and help out with arranging trips, getting to the bank, internet, buses etc etc. They even went the extra mile and looked after me when I was feeling poorly..!
The rooms are lovely, in fact you feel like you're staying in a treehouse, extremely clean, comfortable and spacious. Firoz has worked really hard on making the guesthouse perfect and he should be very proud.
The guesthouse is a little walk out of town maybe 15mins but I saw so much more of local llife walking the windy streets into town so this added to its charm. I could not recomedn this place highly enough to anybody wanting somewhere wonderful to stay..!

Our (a group of 10) stay in Cochin in Adams Wood house was excellent.

It started with the pick up from the train station in the late night, which was organised by the owner in advance. He also organised all the airport/train station drops for us.

The accommodation was perfect for a group of 10, because we stayed all together on one floor. But also for a couple it is perfect.

It is a very cozy, comfortable, clean and nicely furnished home stay. During the night is very quiet and the neighbourhood is safe. You can reach Kochi down town within some minutes by rikshaw and the Jew town is in walkable distance.

The owner (Firoz Khan) and his family are very friendly and he really took care about us and realized all our wishes. He can make everything possible and gives very good advised (regarding tours, travels and so on).

The breakfast (traditional Kerala breakfast) was included in the price and really very delicious.

All things considered is it a very nice place to stay and I can recommend it to everyone.
