We stayed at Beena's for 4 nights and loved it! The rooms are very clean and comfortable, it's nice and quiet and the family really nice! The meals we're lovingly prepared and so good! And it's nice to meet other guests for breakfast and dinner!
Sudesh even got up really early to bring us some bananas and coffee when we had to leave for the airport early in the morning.
Thank you so much for everything and we wish you all the best!

I don't know where to start - as well as being the nicest people one can possibly imagine, Beena & Sudesh have got everything covered!

The house & rooms are both spotless & comfortable and nothing is too much trouble & from the moment of arrival your every need is taken care of - activities, food, travel. They know & are known by everyone in the local area so are very well placed to make arrangements for you.

Sudesh's food is unbelievable! I spent an afternoon with him in the kitchen, observing him craft his families traditional recipes, unique to his family and now to Beena homestay, you will not get similar anywhere. I really can't stress enough how great it is and once they know what you like they will cater to your needs here too.

What's more is that they attract great people. People who want to experience indian culture & family life, not just have a chunk of western life away from home.

If you'd like to experience Kerelan family life, you couldn't stay anywhere better. If you don't, you won't appreciate where you are and what you are a part of.

We spent 2 nights there in the beginning of our trip and when we had to go back to Kochin, we wanted nothing else but to come back! We had a room without AC on the ground floor, we had a small living room for us with lot of books and guide about Kerala so that was very nice. The room is very clean but not so bright though. The food is perfect! The owners always propose a lot of kerala specialties and they take care that there is always enough for your apetite! This was the best food we had in our whole kerala trip..
The owner can also help you a lot with organizing your trip from there by calling some taxi or so.

Room Tip: Upstairs rooms with AC seems to be brighter... But the lower room was really OK

We spent only 1 night at the homestay and had an excellent time. Located in a quiet area, the highlights of the place are the friendly hosts Beena and Sudesh, yummy home cooked Kerala delicacy, and the cleanliness.
Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by our hosts and immediately felt at home. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. As we arrived exhausted in the middle of the day, Beena offered us some fresh fruits and a small lunch. It was delicious and very convenient, and a warm gesture. They suggested us regarding the tourist spots and enthusiastically answered our questions. Breakfast and dinner were included in the price, and we were offered a wide array of delicious authentic Kerala food, both vegetables and sea food preparations. What we liked most was that during our meals, Beena and Sudesh would sit with us at the table to have a chat, which created a very homely and pleasant atmosphere. We really appreciated their eye for details and the personal touch that was felt everywhere. It is a true homestay in every sense.

Stayed here for a day with my family in 2 double non-a/c bedrooms on the ground floor.
I wonder if I should bother writing a detailed review as the previous reviews have amply covered this place and all the accolades are richly deserved.
Beena and her team do everything just right, from the prompt and precise email replies to making sure she personally welcomes the guests on their arrival, to taking care of their food, suggesting accommodation in Allappuzha, arranging cab to suggesting local sight-seeing itinerary. They do everything to make your stay perfect. Period.
Everything was spic and span.
The food was simply awesome. The fact that they use only Kashmiri stuff so that the spiciness is tempered and does not affect the bowels adversely, to eliminating turmeric in the food prepared so that it agrees better with the stomach of foreigners, shows the amount of detail and care that goes into making the guests stay as pleasant as possible. No wonder the consistent 5-star ratings on tripadvisor and all the awards it has won. We happened to stay at their place at a trying time for them on their personal front and despite those challenges they ensured that nothing upset our stay there.
If you are a tourist and looking for a fabulous stay with a touch of local folks that is also friendly on the pocket in Fort Kochi with great food (my tastes are simple and I love anything well-made), this will fit the bill perfectly.

Thanks Beena & Sudi!! We had an excellent time at Beena's Homestay in Fort Cochin and i can warmly recommend it to everyone! We stayed there with our two little kids (2 and 4) and felt like we are part of their family. Beena even invited our kids for the skypedate with her grandkids! The food was just delicious, the room was clean & big enough to fit all 4 of us, the atmosphere was wonderful and very welcoming. They were also helping us a lot with organizing the rest of our trip!! I would always come back :-)

Beena Homestay is one of those refreshingly well-run places that have worked out what matters most to their guests and made sure that's exactly what they provide. So expect immaculately clean rooms, comfortable beds, hot water and a plentiful supply of delicious food.

We found Beena and Sudi to be remarkably gracious, flexible and hospitable hosts with a ready supply of recommendations for places to eat and things to do during the day, as well as nicely chilled bottled water. They were also amazingly helpful and quick when it came to booking things (eg. a taxi to the airport and a ticket to a cultural show), and have clearly have an enormous amount of experience with the various requirements and needs of a traveller.

The only thing we struggled with was finding Beena Homestay when we first arrived - the place isn't signposted very well from the main road that you'll arrive by, if at all. But this just made getting there all the more rewarding!
