Mr Walton was extremely helpful and friendly. Pinpointing key attractions on a useful, handwritten map of Kochi upon check-in. The room we had (ground floor) was very clean, and bright. Good bed, TV, wardrobe and bedside cabinets and air-con (optional for an extra charge). Bathroom was clean, with a powerful shower. Toilet, and basin with mirror and towels. A small porch, with chairs looking onto courtyard garden. Breakfast was good value, with a choice of fruit, toast (jam and butter) and eggs cooked to your liking. Breakfast served in a large room with communal tables. Lovely, period property.

Mr Walton and his daughter made us very welcome in this beautiful homestay and were extremely helpful in answering questions and making suggestions about plans and arrangements. Centrally located in the old town, it was a peaceful haven with a lovely garden courtyard and a balcony to relax on during the heat of the day. The room was large with a good bathroom attached, and attractive wooden furniture. Breakfast was good and we were well looked after by everyone working there.

Mr Walton sets the tone for your stay in Cochin from behind his desk in the booklined reception area. He is most knowledgeable and helpful. Our room was well appointed, comfortable and quiet. It was sereviced daily. The courtyard garden gave a very homely feel to the place. The breakfasts were good and gave an opportunity for socialibility with fellow travellers.

Fantastic start to a trip round Kerala. Very well located, close to the Chinese fishing nets, Fort Kochi and other places. Rooms are spacious and clean and we were given a very warm welcome by the owner on arrival. Lots of useful information and recommendations for places to eat. Breakfast was basic but very nicely done.

By Mr. Walton's own admission, he is an innkeeper. And trust me, you will not find someone who better fits that description.
Mr. Walton is a treasure trove on the history, legacy, and culture of Fort Kochi and he goes out of his way to share his knowledge and experience with you. Guests checking in get maps to the local sights as well as a one pointing out the best places to eat in Fort Kochi - and this is something this travel writer has never seen anyone do before.
His home on Princess Street has been refurbished to provide every modern comfort while keeping the old world charm intact. He runs the place with his wife and daughters, and they are as warm and helpful as him.
The next time you're in Fort Kochi, stay here. You'll leave enriched in ways you never imagined.

Room Tip: The rooms on the ground floor have balconies opening out on to the lovely garden. Perfect to sip away in. As Mr. Walton for his pick of restaurants in Fort Kochi.
