We enjoyed a lot. Anyone who visits, will feel a lot happy and it's a very calm place to stay and feel the calm. A nice place for trekking also. An adventurous forest trip, you can stay in the forest with the help of guides.

Mathikettan Shola National Park near Poopara will be a feast for adventure seekers, exploring the forest here is really adventrous. The thick forest and the wild animals without a proper road or trail, it was really scary. When we visited in May the monsoon has not started and scarcity of water make the wild elephants come out through the trails. We saw several group of wild elephants though we couln't see other wild animals. The view from the top is just awesome, we can see both states - Kerala & Tamilnadu. Though the journey from Santhanpara ended by evening only we were not tired. Those who visit Mathikettan Shola are advised to seek the help of a guide and also keep water and other food items if you are planning to venture deep into the forest.

One of the best views of trees with various color leaves covered place. I was told that leopards, bison, wild boar are there inside the place.
The trees emits a gas, which will make the people loose their minds. There is no road to that place and you have to have your own way to get into the valley - at the cost of your life!!!
