“music!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 10, 2012

a great ambiance and wonderful place to hear a live band or DJ, which is often featured. a variety of seating options are available, my personal preference being on the floor cushions with low tables. a variety of drinks are available, and the appetizers are great for sharing and cover a wide variety of tastes. overall, a great place to meet friends and enjoy a few drinks. There is, however, often a fairly steep (by India standards) cover charge, so call ahead to check the details.

“wow... Goa again!!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 1, 2012

As they call themselves - Goa really comes back at nioght in Opus. Any day in the week, this place takes you away from city beautiful's busy streets, rush and hectic hours, relaxes you the way a short trip to Goa would. Good service and wonderful food with nice music heats you up to crave to be back to the place.

A must try to all who visit Bangalore.

If you want to chill out on a Saturday or Sunday, just head out to opus. Lovely karaoke night on Sunday and Goan carnival night on Saturday. Awesome experience.

“Great Atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 3, 2012

Last Saturday my wife and I along with a few friends landed at Opus. This was my first time at Opus and as I had heard a lot of good things about it from my friends here; my expectation were high.

The entrance looked a bit demure; however as we walked in, I could see the place transform itself progressively. As we entered the main seating area in the open, I saw that the place was packed with people. Their seating arrangement on floor looked great and if you are in group would be great to relax and stretch your leg out on the floor. We sat at the table, which was okay as well.

Service was prompt even though it did look like the staff had to constantly run around. We ordered for drinks and starters which came in reasonably fast. The mutton kebabs and spicy sausages & pav were superb. All of us liked the sausage preparation a lot. The pastas ordered in the main course along with Thai curry & rice too were yummy. I was happy that Opus managed to balance both food & great overall ambience well.

The DJ was playing rock & roll that night and we had couple dancing a table away. All around we had people on tables and on the floor seating chatting & laughing away.

Overall the place lifted my spirits and was bouncing of a happy vibe. I like that part about a place. As it cannot be installed or added by the management. Its what the people bring in and is a collective effort. Kudos to Opus for that. It has that nice lived in feel you get when you walk into a nice old house which has seen many such days/nights of mirth & laughter.

“Goan dishes are excellent; ignore the rest”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 7, 2012

Opus is the place to go for music (karaoke and live bands), dancing, and drinks. They have a decent menu of Indian and Continental cuisine. Of the various things I've tried here I'd highly recommend Goan items such as Sorpotel. Even the dhal is great, and the fish is also pretty good. I didn't find the rest of the things I tried worth attempting again, and was even served undercooked chicken once (though they were decent enough to strike it off the bill).
Visitors should know that when there's music going on it's often super loud, so on most nights this isn't the place for quiet conversation.
