Description: The Polo Club is a classic pub with an alfresco ambience. One of a kind in Bangalore and a perfect reflection of the garden city! It is open, fresh, warm and very lively, allowing guests to take in the gorgeous climes. DECOR The walls are adorned with vintage photographs of the Raj era depicting scenes from the stately game of Polo. Rich use of leather, wood and stained glass lends the bar a warm and lived in hue. It has breathtaking views of the garden in the hotel and the cool breeze which adds to the evening drink and the fresh sunshine which brightens the mornings and the afternoons. It has live entertainment in terms of a wonderful solo band who strums your favourite retro and popular tunes each evening amongst flickering candle light and quaint lamps. The appeal of this bar is its alfresco feel. The seating accentuates from the warm indoors to the verandah under a gentle shade and the portico under the open sky. Each area gives one a unique feeling. The indoor relives an English bar with rich leather sofas, rosewood chairs with wicker finish and wood flooring . All adorned with lithographs and photos of the game of Polo from the Raj era. The verandah is ideal for the alfresco feel. It allows the perfect vantage point to enjoy the serene view of the gardens. Enjoy the open air feel with the perfect shade provided by the patio and the comfortable wicker work chairs giving the ideal touch for a great time over a few cocktails or wine. The outside portico almost makes you feel you are in an elegant picnic in an English garden.. All of this matched with Bangalore pleasant weather.. Irresistible !

The restaurant is more of an bar with good food and great atmosphere. There is a guitarist that plays in the evening and a breeze that cools things down that makes this a great spot to relax for a bite and a beer. It also is the sports bar for the hotel. I have sat on the patio with colleagues and was told that on the table next to be was a famous Indian Director. Service was excellent snacks were great.

this is how old bangalore would have been - serene, wonderful gardens and good beer. while most of it is lost elsewhere but is still retained in polo club, oberoi

i have been there couple of times for beer and snacks. last time i went was after a good run at TCS 10 k Blore. Not that i had a good run but nevertheless thought i deserve some chilled beer. its also the first time i ventured into their food. Given that i ran 10KM i was starving for some brunch. unlike in Mumbai u don't get good brunch in most places in blore. even oberoi, they all confuse brunch with buffet lunch.

anways i think i should have stuck to the regular 'eggs made to order' but since i wanted something heavier i went for the club sandwich. it turned out to be too bland and lacking the punch.

the bruchetta which was not on their menu but the friendly chef made it upon request was too good.

Net net - go there for the beer and the munchies that come along with it. fresh juices are also good. and enjoy the surroundings and pamper yourself

The bar menu is good, the staff fun to talk with and they mix a good cocktail. What more do you need?

but they do not serve that in this restaurant. So I was a little surprised. However the food and service was good, I could sit outside in the nice Bangalore wheather and enjoyed the garden view. The whole hotel looks "normal" Oberoi style, very luxurious very attentive, therefore I do think it is some kind of a drawback that I could not be served afternoon-tea. Still it was a pleasant meal in lovely surroundings.
