This is one of the best place to have idly's, earlier this used to be a very small joint now they have expanded a bit;with lot of crowd any time during restaurant time, I never miss to visit this place whenever i'm around this part of the town, Idlys are just like butter melts in your mouth very unique taste with a combination of watery chutney no sambar here even the vada is also very good soft 'n' crispy once you have it you will get addicted, i have been visiting this place since last 17years. still the taste haven't changed a bit in this fast changing world.

Allow me to introduce you the Brahmin's Coffee Bar, aka the idli restaurant - a small place in Bangalore which has been in the business for at least the last 50 years. These dishes have to be eaten here and, I promise you, once you have done that, you may not want to sample the same dishes at any other restaurant.

They must have great confidence in the stuff they serve in order to survive all these years by serving four dishes only -- fluffy idlis, crisp vadas, spicy khara bath and sweet kesari bath.

This place is a no frills Standing Room Only place in the heart of Old Bangalore. While it is little more than a hole in the wall and while we should not care that the intellectuals and political elite of this state patronize this place, you should certainly know that this place serves one of the best idlis ever... at least in Bangalore. Outstanding fluffiness, taste and its always piping hot! Other snacks are good too viz the 'kharabhath' the 'medu vada' but the idli is what you go there for, accompanied by the classic Bangalore coconut chutney.

The coffee, as in most other South Indian restaurants is thick, sweet and cloyingly average on the senses... try only if you are in dire need of a hot cuppa or if you're one of those people who actually like the over hyped 'south indian coffee'.

Highly recommended for south indian snacks

This is one awesome place for breakfast. Unlike many similar outlets, this place is very organized and serves awesome food. In addition to the idlis and vadas here, I also loved the queue system that they have in place.

This old little restaurant, where people prefer to eat on the roadside makes only 4 items-idly, vada, khara bhat and kesari bhat. All of them are very tasty, but it is the idli which is dipped in watery mint chutney that calls for attention. I have eaten here since the past three decades and the taste and the quality have not waned a bit!
