Owner description: Erstwhile South Parade is Bangalore’s shopping and entertainment hub, along with nearby Brigade Road, Church Street and Commercial Street. Old-timers reminisce fondly about the grand avenue this once was. Many old landmarks have been torn down to make way for characterless glass buildings. The metro running over the road proved to be the proverbial nail in the coffin for MG Road’s beauty. Thankfully, some of the vibe still survives. Walk along and enjoy a few gems that survived the massacre.

It's one of the busiest roads in the centre of Bangalore - for cars at least.

Yes there are plenty of places to eat around here and a store selling some absolute bargain books on the nearby Church Street.

However, this really is nothing special. Yes visit and go to a restaurant, but it isn't great.

There are plenty of things to shop around in places nearby MG Road (brigade road and commercial road for example).

This road has been around for quite a long time, and is always crammed with lots of traffic, so be careful while crossing the road.

MG Road once the entertainment hub of Banagalore dotted with Pubs and restaurants is no more the hub as many new restaurants, pubs and malls opened doors in the other parts too. Once famous for the cinemas, cabarets, ice cream parlours and saree shops. MG road is defenitely worth visiting if you want to shop for Sarees, handicrafts, books, eye wear, sweets or even window shop. You also have the MNC banks on one end.

Parking is a big problem in MG Road especially during weekends and evenings. There is no public place you can sit and relax. Only roadside shops ranging from roadside tea shops to expensive restaurants. But not much in number. I did not find any public bathroom facilities and if you have to use, you might have to visit a restaurant. Could not see the old world charm. The adjoining Brigade Road and Commercial Street and much more pleasing to the shoppers.

Crowd. We were on a business trip. You can take a long stride, enjoy draught beer or leisurely watch busy crowd.
