I had been to Angsana for a team outing.
The property in itself - being away from the hustle and bustle of the city and being beautifully designed deserves a 5/5
Cost: For the economically inclined - staying is a bit expensive, a weekend team outing cost around 1200 - 1500/- per person (Cant exactly remember).
Facilities: 5/5 was good well maintained pool, good shower rooms, a ground to play outdoor games and squash court was well maintained.
There is a lot to walk around which peiople have complained about in other reviews. I am not so sure of the service as we had buffet but it was nothing exceptional to be spoken about as well.
But because of the cost factor - quite a decent crowd can be expected. Distance depends on which part of bangalore you are in. it is maybe a good 45 minutes from the new intl airport; on the Dodballapur road
What an amazing place to simply unwind! Just a short drive from the hustle and bustle of Bangalore, and you are in heaven!!
The first thing that strikes you when you enter is the vast expanse of the property - its simply huge! And next, the lovely winding swimming pool.
The lawns and gardens are very well maintained, with lots of greenery around.
There's a small kids activity room, but then it doesn't seem to have been maintained well. Nothing useful was available for the kids to enjoy, except the few chairs and the playhouse. It also has a squash court, but the equipments seemed to be in a very bad state.
As part of the Diwali package, we were given an Ayurvedic massage. That was awesome, especially the sauna and the scrub post massage. It was pampering beyond expectations.
The swimming pool was very nice, with lovely "coves" created around the corners. The folks were prompt in providing life jackets and rings for my kid, even without asking for it. Unfortunately, the artificial waterfall that is displayed on their web site is active only for a very short duration in the day. It would have been good to have that throughout as its a very nice view and can be enjoyed a lot in the swimming pool.
The food was awesome. It was one of the best buffets I have had in a long time, with a huge spread and fabulous quality. The evening ambiance was very beautiful.
Overall, a lovely place to break the routine and enjoy a short break to pamper yourself.
I had stayed for a night for a meeting. The stay was excellent, a grand property for family get away. Food is very good but service needs to be improved. Too far away from the main city. The spa is good and one should not miss the Thai Massage,
it was our 1st anniversary and we wanted to go somewhere quitter and nice. i am glad to stay that angsana lived upto are expectations. the only thing which wasnt nice their was the service, since our room was at the corner, it took them ages to get it to our room. a wonderful experience and a memorable one too.
We had booked the resort for our annual offsite business meeting. The check-in and related process was quite smooth, as rooms were already booked and ready. Had to lug baggage to the reception counter, from where the support staff took care.
The drive from city centre took us about 90 minutes. Should take half the time from Bangalore International Airport.
The property is set in natural surroundings. The outdoor ambience has been kept closer to nature - cobble-stone pathway, rough stone steps, et al. Rooms are located away from the main building / reception. That can get a bit messy in monsoon.
Rooms are well appointed - very spacious, without clutter. Linen well kept. The bath is clean, but a wee bit cramped.
The food was good, as we had chosen the buffet to our tastes. The open air (covered roof) restaurant lent an easy ambience to the dining area.
There are no ramps etc for the differently-abled. This can be difficult for senior citizens too.
The conference rooms are well kept. Acoustics are fixed-up according to specific needs.
Did not use gym and fitness facilities.
Overall, certainly worth another stay. Will make a good weekend getaway.
Pluses:
Location, ambience
Minuses:
Not really, though the resort can do with some pathways / walks for the elderly / differently enabled.
