“Great for IT”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 8, 2009

I reached banglore and checked on hotel availibility
all hotels around MG Road have become very expensive
Taj and other 5 stars are in 12000 plus range which is not worth it if you are on business stay and just need an overnite stay.Located St marks recommened by an office colleague.
great hotel , got a superior room ar Rs 4800/- with breakfast
Room is excellent with all facilities , breakfast is also quite adequate and con be compared to 5 star breakfasts.Lot of IT sector executives were put up.Service was quite decent and timely and staff cooperative.I would say that next time again in Banglore i would stay here ...very good value for money and gives almost 5 star comfort at reasonable rates

Newly renovated, comfortable and smart hotel with very friendly and helpfull staff. My husband has been staying at St Mark's over the past 5 years, however this was my first stay with them. As my husband was working I got to know some of the staff and in particular would like to mention the care and attention shown to me by Sanjay, Ram, Arjun (travel desk), Namitha, Sudha and Babu. Babu (Chef) in particularly for sharing his recipes with me and preparing a wonderfully delicious Tandoor chicken for me. With such care and attention my stay was very enjoyable. I found the drivers to be excellent as well and were happy to take me to shopping malls and wait to take me back to the hotel. They also had a good understanding of other attractions in the area and shared their knowledge. I would also like to thank the General Manager JP Menon for taking time to show us his newly completed and very stylish new restaurant. All in all a very enjoyable stay at a top notch hotel in a great location and all at a very reasonable price.

Bathroom has a glass wall through which you can see the television while taking a bath, you have one speaker in the Bathroom too, incase you need privacy the wall can be covered using an electrically controlled curtain which on being pressed down rolls the curtain .Excellent control of Lights , AC, Alarm clock and Television provided in a single instrument with one touch buttons. Good hotel that's situated in the heart of the city. Pretty Good value for money. Bulk of the rooms have been renovated i think, with the restaurant as well undergoing renovation during my stay there..

Food was good and service prompt. In a city that's void of many of the major 5-star hotel chains and where the average room rates are on the higher side for bulk of the year, even with the prevailing recession, St. Marks' hotel is certainly good 'bang for the buck'.

We had a newly renovated room, it was lovely. We arrived from Kochin by train (recommend flying instead if possible), on an 11-hr train ride, and were quite ready for a shower and bed. The shower was fantastic, as was the staff who greeted us and checked us in. We ordered room service, which was nice to have the opportunity to do so, but the food wasn't very good. Which was surprising the next morning, because the Breakfast Buffet is INCREDIBLE. They have everything you could possibly want and it is all really tasty. The fresh juice of the day I really loved. The staff again is really great at breakfast. So much love, concern, attentiveness in the service. We like it so much, we stayed for 2 more nights. There was fruit and water in the room (free of charge) and great shampoo and soap. I would make two suggestions to them: the concierge should have a list of some local salons and beauty parlors that are not just nearby, but also really great. Here are 2: Peaches Salon for haircut or anything else and Squeeze is also great. The other suggestion for hotel is to include the taxes in the online purchase. I got our reservation on Expedia, and when I went to pay the bill, it was about $20 more for the room per night. I would highly recommend this hotel, and would go back again in a second (but flying into Bangalore, on Kingfisher).

My wife and I stayed at St. Mark's in Bangalore for four weeks in July. We have frequently stayed in much more luxurious hotels (among other things I am a Hilton Diamond member) but never experienced the quality of service that we found at this extremely comfortable four star hotel in Bangalore. It is indeed a hotel that provides TLC (tender, loving care). The staff led by its very able GM, J.P. Menon, went out of its way to make us feel comfortable. Their interactions with other guests also demonstrated that they have a faithful clientele that keeps returning to the hotel because of the standard of service and the cleanliness they experience here. To top it all, the hotel has a very fine restaurant that caters to all tastes. Its new menu excels in fusion cooking. If there is a hotel that fits the description "home away from home" it is St. Mark's in Bangalore.
