Owner description: Yellow Button Store is a quaint independent store, located in heart of Indiranagar's shopping district, that designs and curates an eclectic collection of clothing, jewelry, bags, baskets, home accessories and other handpicked products. Yellow Button Store envisions itself to be recognized for simply great products that are handmade, sustainable, innovative or just plain fun.

Such colors adorn the shelves at Yellow Button.......woven baskets, photo frames, earrings to match every outfit, slippers, trousers that I absolutely love to put on and to top it all, Madhavi's smile and warmth.

The city's quaint charm lives on in Yellow Button, a shop barely visible from the hustle and bustle of the very urban, stylish 12th Main, Indiranagar, packed with gastronomic cafes, international cuisines, luxury spas and retail. Ideal for a shopping-with-lunch day in delightful Bangalore weather, you'll find the store just off the Main, at the start of a leafy boulevard. That the store was once an old house is still evident in the iron staircase that took me up, passing an open parapet to reach a cozy nook, at once making the name Yellow Button appropriate and adorable! Small and cheery, it surprises with its lack of kitsch as the name may suggest; instead holding its own, with a handpicked, high on design, eclectic range of silver and semiprecious jewelry, eye catching stoles in kalamkari, clutch bags in brocade, ethno chic kurtas with a surprising coming together of colour and texture. And as its beautiful store owner Madhavi told me, Indigenous craft too finds a voice and space here. Obviously, less is more at the Yellow Button. Go, be surprised. (An exhibit of Handcrafted saris begins next week.)
