“Nice garden restaurant in the heart of City, but poor service.”
Reviewed November 20, 2012

Eden park is a great restaurant in the central part of Bangalore, close to MG Road.Nicely done & cozy garden restaurant.Food is good too.But of late their service is deteriorated & they are very strict on closure timings. There is a cat menace too, which slips in under the tables & chairs while eating.
The added attraction of amusement section for kids is closed too.

“A Dabha experience in Heart of the city”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

The best time to visit and enjoy this place is on a sunny afternoon. The open seating in the shade on a Hot and Sunny day with a Pitcher, french fries and a Tandoor platter will make any one's day. All the dishes are tasty ,well made and in good quantity. Its an old place with minimum decor and you need to choose your seating well so that you are away from the unkept places. Take a mosquito repellant along especially if you are with kids and beware of the stray cats. There's abundant parking inside so you can drive right in. After your meals , you can freshen up with the COOL magai Paan available at the Paan shop down the road towards Indian Express.

“Refreshing Choice for Chinese food in Bangalore”
Reviewed July 7, 2012

Ambience: understated elegance; neatly maintainatined; not a sore spot around; well could be better in spick and span outlook
Staff: just smartly dressed and professional in outlook and disposition

Food: we loved them: Kothe Dimsums; Kung Pao veggies with water chestnuts; Aromatic rice; Datepancake with icecream...truly delectable; but the pepper and lemony soup is a disappointment. It could have been better had the broth is purely vegetarian; it smacks of eggs; and also there is no hint of lemony tanginess....nor the fieriness of pepper...

Availability: again a disappointment: for we could not find the coconut rolls with cream

Billing: accruate; prompt
Liked: regular filling of the water; proactively enquiring about the food quality yet unobtrusively...
Oh yes..bathrooms are well maintained in clean environment

What could be better:
- Instead of cellulose napkins, provide the cloth napkins for that unique rich warm feeling and better functional utility
- Play the sonorous and mellifluous Chinese background instrumentals than out of setting pop music
- Perhaps the ambience can be even brighter and inviting had it been suffused with some fresh aromas/aircleaners...

But by far the best chinese cuisine, I had was at Mainland China: truly great experience on all aspects...

“Amazing South Indian Thali in Bangalore”
Reviewed April 5, 2012

I can say that in the last seven years, there has been no week-end visit to Bangalore, wherein I would have missed to have a Andhra Thali lunch or dinner in Eden Park. This is a quite property - off Infantry Road and opp. to Hindu office. The meals are served in vazhai elai i.e. fresh plaintian leaf, they offer unlimited helping of hot ghee for mixing hot rice with yellow dhal powder, three types of delicious side dishes,i.e. kootu, poriyal and pachadi, sambhar,Kara kuzhambu, tasty rasam, , coriandar leaves powder, yummiest dhal thuvaiyal, ofcourse, not to be missed out are the divine gonghra chutney, mango pickles ( Avakai oorugai ), they offer curd, pappad and butter milk too. All these are unlimited except for pappads, which are are charged for the extra ones. The heavenly delight is offered for about Rs.100/-only. Very friendly and supportive staff….They serve non veg stuff, which I have heard to be extremely good. My discussion above, has been only about the ver thali, since Iam a vegetarian. They also serve kid meals incase you take your kids also to the hotel. Strongly recommended for a good full south indian sappaadu… hats off….the hotel has a garden restaurant and another multi cusine restaurant as well.

“A typical South Indian dining experience”
Reviewed November 9, 2011

Eden Park is located behind "The Hindu" building close to Cunningham Road. Apart from North Indian and Chinese food, the restaurant is most famous for its very reasonably priced, typical South Indian ( rather Andhra ) lunch on banana leaves, consisting of rice, sambhar, rasam, two vegetables, pappad, pickle. A special non-vegetarian side dish ( like fried fish or pepper chicken ) is served on request and at an extra cost. The ambience is not great...very functional....but the restaurant gets very crowded during the lunch hour as people love the hot and well prepared Andhra meal. They make excellent dishes with bitter gourd - bitter gourd with lentils and fried bitter gourd with jaggery. Various types of chutneys, pickles and pachadis are usually on every table, which make an excellent accompaniment with the food served. Service is good. The restaurant has a bar and some tables in its garden where the North Indian and Chinese cuisine and an a la carte option is available. There is a children's play area. There is enough place in the car park usually, both within the restaurant compound and on the street outside. All in all, the restaurant is a good value for money. The restaurant is open from 11:00 AM to 3:30 PM and 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM.
