I had an excellent dinner at Shiro. The decoration is a amazing, with a massive buddha and other huge statutes. Very beautiful and peaceful.
The sashimi was incredibly good (I used to go often in Japanese restaurant in Paris, and when I travel). The bar is nice too, with a good choice of whiskey & bourbon (I found a makers mark bourbon).
Of course the price is high, but good value for it!

Stayed at the Oakwood Apartments next door so this place become a local for 8 days of my trip. Went a couple of times to sample the Indian wines on offer and it was fantastic. Great staff, good conversation at the bar and an electric atmosphere. Went again with friends from New Zealand for dinner and it was superb. Great recommendations from our waiter for food and wine. All perfect combinations and a few bottles were downed.

Setting is chic indo-chine. Murmuring fountains spewing out of pots held by giant Buddhas that are in turn, cleverly lit by focused lights from the thiple height ceiling. Sounds clichéd but is really unique. Great ambiance - Combodian murals et al.
The food is super and very reasonably priced. Portions for two to share. Order anything and you will be pleased by the excellent quality and taste. The service is excellent and attentive. Starters are RS.350 to 400 and mains are RS 600.
Great choice in the dim sum and sushi menu. I recommend beef bulgogi, mathani chicken, shrimp tempura, rice paper chicken wrap and the sushi 24 piece set. Typical meal for two is RS. 4000 inclusive of taxes and service charge but without drinks. Also famous - Sunday brunch with all you can eat and drink. Lunch specials on weekdays too.
Reservations required, At UB City, Bangalore.
