One of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Bangalore........

The good thing is that you cant go wrong with the choice since all their dishes taste reasonably good so its ok to take that "wild guess" with the strange sounding Chinese dish names :)

Right from crab meat soup, shaolin sticks, kim li prawns, fried crab dumplings, red dragon chicken, etc., they all taste good

Other good thing I find with this place unlike many other restaurants(where you are giving slots like a doctor's visit) in Bangalore is, they are not too pushy with their service and you can have a relaxed meal..

Note:
Can get crowded on weekends so reserve in advance.

I had heard about the China Pearl restaurant at Koramangala from a couple of friends, that it is a great option for Chinese cuisine in the city. We weren't too hungry that night and started out with a chicken dish called - Lat Kay Fa (rs 205). This preparation was dry and batter fried with Chinese spices. The dish was aromatic and had a sweet & tangy flavour. However I had this grainy after-taste in my mouth after every bite. I am not sure if its the batter which was not cooked/fried entirely.

For the main course we ordered for San Tung Kay (rs.210), a chicken dish with thick gravy. The sauce though marked as spicy was mildly spicy. Besides the chicken, the dish had a lot of veggies in it and made it overall crunchy and nice. However the sauce as such was not outstanding, but tasted quite average. To go with this we ordered for Veg Dang Ping Noodles (Rs.150), which was hakka noodles with chilli oil. Again the noodles on its own did not have any flavours.

The pricing is very reasonable considering the fact that its located on prime real-estate on one of the most popular roads in the Koramangala area for foodies. A repeat visit - quite unlikely though!

I am a repat offender here. No, its neither decoration nor service that brings me here on a shivery, rainy evening. Its the comfort and extremely good chinese food that guides me trough the night into this slightly crowded place. Make sure you take a reservation if you want to come on popular times. Otherwise you will have to wait for sure. The jasmine tea is nice though the tea pot tops secured with string do look a little odd. The mixed clay pot rice is a delicacy and a treasure. Beautifully spiced with five spice powder. Theres nothing to make it any better! Eight treasure fish a delight, so is the mushroom n tofu dish. Hoisin lamb another classic and very delightful dish. Portions are fair sized. The waiters are mostly terribly busy so not too much attention from their side. The place is a little crammed and i prefer upstairs sitting to downstairs. Its slightly better decorated. Its not cheap really. Two dishes, clay pot rice and jasmine tea will set you back for about 1000 rs. Menue Prices do not include taxes or service. Having said that, i will return for sure, because the genuine taste is not to be found anywhere else in koramangala and that surely not from a dearth of offer in chinese fare.

I took my family for dinner last evening and the experience was very good. Starters were served in reasonable time and the taste was really nice. My 4 year old daughter who nomally avoide prawns... Completed the portion. Their portions were generous. It's a value for money restaurant. Only flip side is their service, once the restaurant becomes full... You need to keep calling them to place fresh order.

I went few days back only to this place, actually my boss gave me treat at this place, ambiance is very nice, soothing music, service is too good, pleasing staff...

Normally we try some noodles or rice or chicken chilly when ever we visit to chinese restaurant but you should actually try the crisp potato manchurian, it was very surprising for me but when i tasted that i just loved it...

Overall don miss this place if you ever want to eat chinese food :)

Will surely visit next time with my hubby :)
