ITC Gardenia, Bengaluru
Ranked #23 of 668 Hotels in Bengaluru
Reviewed October 19, 2010

I stayed at this hotel on 25th Sept for a day while I visited Bangalore on business. I booked the room directly with the Hotel Reservation staff and it was handled very well. The luxury and the imposing Gazebo will definitely hit you as soon as you enter the hotel. The lobby, the finest marbles will tell you that you have entered a very high class hotel. The rooms were quite big and comparable to other hotels of this class in Bangalore like Leela Palace and Taj Westend. The room is well apppointed with all the frills and gizmos of a luxury hotel of this standard. Only the toiletries of ITC make ( Fiama Di Wills) will make you feel at home. The rubberwood used extensively to make this a Green Hotel look little dull. The room service was quite fast and efficient. The dinner buffet was very huge and one can enjoy only if he has great apetite. The service at spa was nothing great to write about. The morning breakfast was amazing and urge all the users not to miss this. Overall, it was a great stay provided you have that much money in your packet to enjoy a world class luxurious hotel.

ITC Gardenia is the first hotel in Asia that is certified by LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)

1) The rooms are spacious and luxurious with all the modern amenities available
2) The restaurants are elegant and offer a host of cuisines
3) The bars are well stocked and offer all international liquors
4) The pool, gymnasium and the SPA is of international standard

Overall a must stay at this fantastic hotel

Very good hotel. May be because, it is new. Very good service attitude. Check in and check out takes really very small time. Mid of the town. Good Restaurent.

I will surely recommend travellers going to Bangalore to stay here atleast once.

Firstly, I have not stayed in this hotel before. But the reservation & confirmation experience with their corporate sales team is unbelievably terrible. This despite almost a 100 nights stay. My worst experience ever, with any hotel. Does nothing to inspire confidence in their hotel. It's too late to switch now as the trip is very near and I can only hope for the better. I will surely post an update here after my stay.

Previously I've been staying at the Windsor, also a SPG property. This time, due to the high ranking, I've decided to stay at the new ITC Gardenia. At arrival I found the layout a bit strange, the design nothing special, just a 5* hotel which could be anywhere around the globe (while the Windsor is a stylish, classy kind of Palace).

The service was okay, the room quite big (SPG Platinum member) - but again, nothing special in design, no charme. Yes, everything 5* - but...

The breakfast is of quite standard selection and served only inside. They would have a lot of space for outside sitting - but: NO

The biggest problem of the hotel is the noise. When designed the hotel they knew where it is, at a crowded street, next to the "Bangalore Club" where they hold parties until late. But the windows aren't noise isolated and therefore there's no sleep (quite bad when you've got jet-lag or have to wake up early to catch a flight). When I compleined they moved me to another room - which was as loud as the fisrt one. Only when telling them that I would agree on a None-SPG-Prefered-Room I got a quite room.

Next time: WINDSOR

This property is fairly new and has a beautiful settings. The rooms were large and comfortable and clean. The beds were a bit soft, but some people like it that way. Amenities provided were of good quality. Once you shut the balcony door, 95% of the noises are blocked. The gym was small but good, which had 3 treadmills, 2 elliptical riders and 2 bike and some weights machines. For a large hotel, if 10 guests come down to the gym, then all the equipment is occupied, so the late comer could be in for a lengthy wait. The dry suna was nice and hot. Since I have status with the chain, access to the business lounge was given, however the food/snack service in was not up to standard for a 5 star business hotel. And if you get invited to the free cocktail drinks hour in one of their bars, its a must go for 1 hour of good drinks and nibbles.Break first was standard fair and should satisfy majority of the guest. Staff were pleasant to deal with and responsive to the requests. Only peev was the size of the gym and the snack food quality at the business lounge, otherwise a great hotel to stay in.

Stay at this hotel and lose the guilt by staying at a hotel that is as much eco-friendly as it is modern and elegant. I had the option to stay at the Leela and decided to stay here instead and glad I made the choice! It says a lot that this is the first hotel in Asia that has also won a Leed Platinum award, if you're a person that cares about the environment. I am a very picky traveler these days, since I travel so often for work, and I highly recommend this hotel. Plus, if you are a Starwood member, you can get points by staying here...

My coworker and I stayed here for 10 days. The lobby is beautiful with hanging gardens and a fountain with lotus flowers and canopied couches. Very relaxing. High security as all cars are inspected and then all visitors must be screened. maybe that's typical in hotels, but it was reassuring. We stayed on the 19th floor in a room with a balcony (which had furniture for lounging).

Each of the floors in the hotel has a different "nature" theme. Our floor was a dedication to animals but other floors focused on flowers, rocks, etc. The fitness room had modern exercise equipment and a trainer. We used the workout facilities often. Although we were told that there was a happy hour in the lounge, we didn't take advantage of this until later in our trip and it was a big regret. They serve great tapas-like dishes (but drinks still cost you). But it was a relaxing atmosphere after work and a nice change of scenery from our rooms. The pool was also very beautiful, and their outdoor restaurant has a "green" roof. Really pretty grounds and well kept.

Decor was very modern (please see pics uploaded). We were on the 19th floor. Staff were always very accommodating. Location seemed to be ok for us, but we had a driver to take us to Bagmane Tech Park each day, so couldn't really tell you if it was a good distance or not.

ITC Gardenia is inspired by the beautiful garden city of Bengaluru. The hotel is conceived as a building set in a garden, where interiors and exteriors amalgamate into each other with the realm of architectural aesthetics and landscaping sensibilities. The spaces are organized around a sequence of gardens and landscaped areas. The Lotus pavilion set in the central court echoes the spirit of the historic Sri Rangapattanam. The sloping roof that express different levels, breaks up the building block and places the hotel in context by their reference to the traditional architect Bengaluru. The whole facade is in clay bricks which go hand-in-hand with the garden environment and subtly merging with it.
