I remember going to Bon South at Koramangala a long time ago, when they were at the older location.
Now it has shifted behind Sukh Sagar, Koramangala where Ping used to be earlier.
They have also changed the style of fucntioning a bit, and now operate a buffet.
We spoke to the owner and he told us clients earlier were not able to figure out what combination of dishes to order, hence the buffet.
The buffet is extensive. They serve soup and starters on the table and main course is self service. There are plenty of options for both veggies and meat eaters and the taste of 90% of the dishes was very good.
I kept gorging on the starters, but then went on to have the soft mutton curry, coconut fish curry as well as chicken gravy which were all lovely along with the appams and malabar parotas.
The desserts also were good, but the ice gola can be avoided.
Service was extra ordinary, and the price is justified for this kind of food and service.
Ambience exuberates warmth and adds to the good overall experience. It's not the kind of place one should visit if they want to eat idlis, dosas and vada etc.
It's for a lover of authentic south indian dishes, not just snacks.
Just maintain the standards and hope this will be a top restaurant in Bangalore.
