We stayed here twice in 1 week while heading up to Hampi then back down to Kerela. It was a good base as it very central and has most things you need. However, the first visit we questioned why we had paid extra for a 'Deluxe' room. Supposedly more spacious as they seem to be at the 'end' or edge of the building with A/C units. However, they really weren't bigger at all, we must have got them to show us about 5 seperate rooms. All the non A/C rooms have fans and to be honest this was enough. The second time we stayed in a normal NON deluxe room - it was so much better and bigger - EXCEPT - We had to get room service to change all the bed sheets - there we fresh tea stains and hairs from the previous occupants.

Its a real shame hotels don't provide the most basic levels of service. If you just changed the bed and had the bare minimum quality control standards it would stop people like me having to write negative comments about the one thing a hotel is expected to do - Provide clean rooms so people can have a comfortable nights sleep - so basic!

Otherwise - Empire is fine and a 3 minute walk to the Hard Rock cafe if you fancy a real western feast, which was great when trying to get over Delhi Belly from a months trip around India.

Room Tip: Don't waste Money on the Deluxe - there's nothing Deluxe about it!

This is a good place to put up on a short stay, it serves its purpose along with great room service. The staff are cordial and helpful. Might be a bit noisy in the daytime due to the flow of traffic and the general hotel sounds, but this can be worked around if the television is kept on for a bit to help induce sleep in the daytime. The back up electricity power supply is good in case of a power out.

Room Tip: I have stayed on all floors and the rooms seem to be similar

This hotel has fantastic rooms, very clean bathrooms, wonderful restaurant of it's own and fantastic staff. Location is perfect with Shivaji Nagar bus station at 4 mins walking distance, it's 10 mins. walking distance to Church street: a wonderful shopping and eating haven. For the price that the hotel charges, it will be very difficult to get a decent place in the whole country, leave aside Bangalore! The only minor blip in their service: that they provide only toast and omlette with coffee every day in the breakfast. I will definitely recommend this hotel.

Roms are fine, clean, ac was dripping but repaired right away. Food downstairs is very good, esp the kebabs, fresh juices were delivered from the outside juice-bar where ppl line up. Nice brekki! The Wifi connection was fast, room spotless, location excellent for the price. We will be back.

Our six day stay was very comfortable, the rooms are tidy and clean. But the best was the excellent restaurant downstairs (and room service) where we ate almost every night.

I booked this hotel by online one month before for 8th jan,2012 check in to 9th jan,2012 checkout. On the way to hotel i also call the front desk office to offer me good room. Unfortunately on reaching the front desk office person told me that have got any intimation my mail from travelguru. But, after waiting for 20 minutes they give me two AC standard room facing the street. Room was clean but very small and not worth the price. Shape of room was even triangular not rectangular. Also room was very noisy as i cant sleep properly in due to noise of traffic outside. Besides there own restaurant has only choice for non-vegetarian not for vegetarian. So, averall my experience with this hotel is poor. I will never recommend anyone this hotel as there are many big, spacious ,new hotel in bangalore offering best service as the same price. Most importantly hotel Empire is known for Bangalore for their Restaurant (Non-veg meal especially Mughlai) rather than hotel offering accomodation.

The Empire hotel is part of a group of hotels, and besides the property in Central Street there is another one called Empire International close by - so make sure you go to the right one!
It is a basic hotel with old decoration, but has all the facilities including free WiFi. The restaurant in the ground floor is a busy place serving South Indian food. The best part about this hotel is the location in the heart of Bangalore; M.G. Road, Cubbon Road, Residency Road are all in walking distance, and it takes 5 minutes to walk to Shivaji Nagar, one of the main bus stations. Environmental tip: If you don't have much luggage you can take a bus from there to Mekhri circle and then take an airport bus. The whole trip from hotel to airport by bus takes a little more than 1 hour and cost 1/10 of a private taxi or car.
