“A Bangalore Landmark”
Reviewed March 29, 2013

Go to their old restaurant in the city for the real deal. The ambience together with heavenly food will have you coming here again and again. Be warned, parking can be a nightmare and if you're alone you will likely end up sharing your table with others. But the food and coffee and jamuns are more than enough compensation

“Excellent place for vegetarian snacks/tiffin”
Reviewed March 29, 2013

One of the best places for vegetarian south Indian food, with select few items of choice only. The place is maintained nicely, even though you feel there is scope of expansion, which steadfastly they have not done for several years. Even though there is a considerable waiting time(waiting halls bigger than restaurant), the food is so divine it takes the angst out of you.

If you are planning to have lunch there, please go with empty stomach as the fare offered is so huge you may find it quite difficult to do justice to even 50%.

“Excellent place for authentic south indian food”
Reviewed March 25, 2013

After having a walk and photography shoot, we headed to MTR for breakfast, as it was Sunday morning, restaurant was crowded, but after wait of 10 minutes we got the place, orders were placed, usually they take min 10 minutes of time, we had khara bhath, dosa, rava idli, wada, kesari bhath, and fruit salad, along with a cup of coffee. Food was excellent, authentic in taste.

A must try for every individual who is in Bangalore.

“"Simply the best" - an outstanding vegetarian restaurant”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

This Restaurant which was started in the year 1924 is a must to any local or visitor who come to this beautiful city, Bangalore - just opposite to the famous Lalbagh main gate. All the dishes are a must try in this restaurant, Starting from Rava idly (I am told that they are the inventors), delicious Masala Dosa, poori, Uppittu (upma), etc. and coffee served in silver glasses (First floor)
Lunch: they serve more than 20 varieties, systematic as they serve one dish after another .
Ambiance - Not great, a typical old style furnitures. You need to book your table in advance especially weekends.
.
The rates are just about a bit expensive than similar south Indian restaurants, but worth the money you will not be disappointed.

Tip: Parking is a big problem here, how ever there is a private parking place just diagonally opposite to MTR for a fee.

Note: The place is very clean and hygienic. You can even walk or pass by the kitchen and see it yourself
