Good accesibility esp. BMTC buses, organised parking. Tickets are a bit overprized for a govt. facility. But the safari is organised and ensures sighting of animals. The zoo is also good. But as in all Indian zoos, we feel bad for the state of cleanliness. The variety of animals are good and we can observe them closely.

The butterfly park houses a variety of butterflies and is not so common thing in India. For a moment we feel in a fairyland.

Bennerghata National Park situated in the southern part of Bangalore. From Silk board it may take 40 minutes to reach the park if you are travelling by Car. BMTC buses are available from Dairy circle, Jayadeva Hospital, Shanti Nagar as well.
Fees structure:
 Entry fee to Zoo per day Rs. 60
 Safari in department Bus Rs. 150, AC Bus -400 , Jeep- Rs 2500 ( For 5 Persons)
 Entry fee to Zoo & Safari in department bus Rs.210 (Both of above)
 Butterfly park –Rs 30
 Camera (Still) Rs 25 , Video Camera-Rs 100

You can buy snacks, Cold drinks, Biscuits, Coconuts outside the Park and inside as well. After you purchase your tickets once you enter into the park go to your left and waif in the queue for Grand safari. It is advisable to go in the first bus to see the lion and tiger close to the bus/jeep and on to the road.
For the grand safari Grand Safari is 16km (to & fro) while Tiger (Close up of White Tiger & Lion Safari is 11km (to & fro). Complete the Safari and get down at Butterfly Park on return way. You need to walk back a few meters to enter the butterfly park. As you enter you can see a dome structure where you can experience the butterfly flying inside .There is a pathway which leads from the entry door to the exhibition center of the butterfly park. The variety is limited however the numbers of butterfly flying are considerable.
Walk towards the Zoo Park and check out the caged animals and birds as well as the reptiles and snakes inside the zoo compound. Zoo does not seem very exciting if you already have visited any other zoo.
This serve as a good spot for a day picnic with homemade food which you can consume in the zoo.

Reached quite quickly as used hired cab (buses take longer). Tickets really cheap Rs 60/- each (Child<12 was Rs 30/-) and the queue moved pretty fast.
It's quite spread out with lots of places to sit and relax under the tree shade.
Managed to catch a glimpse of most of the animals esp the snakes!
Picked up T-shirts for kids (Rs 250/- each), found them good as momentos!
The choice in foods limited to fruits, various soft drinks and crisps (all lined up at the entry making it really congested and noisy). However other eateries seen inside too, none really great . Most of the people carried their food with them.

It was one of the places i had huge expectations about, the safari ride was not upto the mark, the guide was just taking advantage of us. The tigers were the best in the lot.
