“Awesome experience and stay”
Reviewed September 7, 2017 for a stay in September 2017

Well located, easy to find. The host (Nuboor) and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The view from the cottage is fantastic and overlooks the hills. Sumur is about 30 km or so from Hunder which is the more touristy place. Sumur itself is good if you have an additional day to spare and want to be close to nature. Else Turtuk would be a good option to go with Hunder / Disket. The place feels very safe. Food is good and is mainly vegetarian (I think they serve eggs if requested for). They also served us fresh apples plucked off the orchard within the premises. Electricity was erratic. Hot water was available from the tap throughout the day. The room itself is very very neat, extremely clean and bedsheets are spotlessly white and clean. Overall a memorable stay.

“Wonderful location”
Reviewed August 31, 2017 for a stay in August 2017

This place has beautiful views. The location is perfect if you want to enjoy nature. The food which was made by the staff grows in their own vegetable garden. It was very tasty! The place has very nice cottages, however because it was fully booked we were placed in a older room without view. This was pretty disappointing. If you like you can make a good walk in the area.

“Best experience of Nubra valley”
Reviewed July 16, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Sumur village is a remote place in Nubra valley and keeping it in mind; I must say that this place is well maintained having all amenities (like hot water, bottled water and emergency lights). This is a family run property where they take care of you as their own family member. The home cooked food was awesome which was prepared with vegetables which were grown in the property itself. The family members were jolly and always ready to help you (I won’t call them staff). Overall; I like the property and its location. The tents were having all amenities like, study table, hot water bath, rack.
This is very different experience than what we get in any commercial property stay.

Management Response
May 19, 2016
Dear Sir Thanks for staying with us and your review. Nubra valley being remote has not yet been connected to the grid. The electricity we get is supplied by the state using diesel powered generators, hence limited to few hours in the evening. we are using solar for hotwater and will soon use solar for lighting too. But we see the not depending on the grid as an advantage to become more sustainable and also switching off our gadgets which we have become slaves to. Ladakh is still the place to question all that we take for granted. Jeeth Iype GoodEarth Ecotourism
