I spent five nights at this hotel in various rooms (due to overnight trips in Ladakh). All of the rooms were clean, housekeeping was very good. The dogs can be a bit noisy at night and it starts to get a little loud in the early morning (people arriving / leaving, cars, cows) so earplugs will be helpful. This is valid for all of Leh and India though ;-). The rooms have a lovely view of the mountains.
Leh market is a slow five minute stroll from the hotel. Just walk down the street, take the shortcut just pass the district magistrates house (near the hill where the dogs sit).
The staff are very friendly and attentive. A big thank you to the management and the staff that serve the meals in the restaurant and on the lovely terrace. Breakfast is good. We only had a couple of meals and they were fine. You can definitely get better food in Leh but the hotel is not a bad option if you are tired or just don't want to leave the hotel. A bottle of mineral water costs 30 rupees a bottle (20 rupees in the shops). The hotel is equipped for people with altitude sickness including having flasks of emergency oxygen.
The hotel has Wifi although it didn't work once while we were there (also a general problem in Leh not an issue of the hotel).
Take: a torch for the occasional power outages (there is an emergency lamp in each room) and to find your way back to the hotel after dark.
