Must visit the place as a homage for the people who have laid their lives for the love of our own motherland.
Be in awe for the bravery our soldiers have protected us with.
Get goosebumps seeing the bravery of the families whose loved ones martyred.

When you visit Ladakh, you are frequently reminded of how lucky we are to have a peaceful existence thanks to the brave hearted families who send their men to guard our frontiers. The army camps and posts, trucks and marching soldiers serve as a constant reminder.

The Hall of Fame is a 2 storey memorial/museum to the courageous soldiers who protected us during the Kargil war in particular. Its an extremely informative structure which houses the memories of the martyrs who laid down their lives and also vividly captures the life of an soldier. The ammunition used, the apparel used by the army to weather the sub zero temperatures, the living conditions can be visualised through the display of the tents and bare minimum amenities available to them. This is a must visit place and keep atleast 2 to 3 hours to cover it in detail. A nominal fee of Rs 25/- is charged and the entire place is kept very neat and clean.Extremely friend Indian Army personnel are around to ensure information is available and help one navigate through the displays. There is ample parking available .

Hall of fame is developed and maintained by the Indian Army. Its a museum of military artifacts (from the wars/battles Indian Army was involved in). Also has a section dedicated to buddhist/Ladkahi lifestyle.
Can be avoided, if you have seen any other museum run by Indian Army.
Outside the Hall of Fame, there is a wreath of soldiers who died in Kargil war. Also the army organizes a light and sound show to highlight the glorious past of the Indian Army.

A must visit place if going to Leh. Indian army maintains the place and there is entry fee here. Photographic devices are charged extra. The entry ticket is a composite ticket which gives accessibility to some other fort situated elsewhere and also a light and sound show. Basically you are paying for all this irrespective of whether you are interested in visiting or seeing them. Not fair I think, it needs to be separated out. The place is more of a war museum which houses all the war remains and also information about ladakhi cultural. A coffee shop and souvenir shop are present in the campus. Money collected selling souvenirs goes to army welfare. Souvenirs were expensive but of good quality. I bought some and also found others buying them but I believe this buying was to show gratitude and to commemorate the service of army men as well as to contribute to the army welfare.
