Super Awesome Lake and natural habitat. It has been a memorable visit to the place and the visit was arranged by Yasmin Ladakh Travel Company.

The most beautiful lake I have ever seen, and believe me I have seen plenty. Ladakh is known for its raw beauty and this lake is a testimony to its pure magic. Located at an altitude of 4400m, it is almost unfathomable to realize that only 1/4th of this beauty is in India and the rest is in China across the border. However, as they say, nothing valuable in life comes easy, similarly reaching this lake in itself is a task.
There are two ways, either directly from Leh to Pangong or people combine it with Nubra taking a route of Leh - Nubra - Pangong.
Both the routes are extremely dangerous and bumpy with only small patches of good roads here and there. There are numerous water crossings in between and one must take extreme caution while traveling on these routes. Please research your route well and do not travel at night by any means.
There are taxis available in Leh city with experienced drivers or some people also prefer to ride on bike. Infact it is called a biker's heaven, though you need to be very good at riding bikes as well.
The temperature at night drops very low on Pangong, so be prepared with warm clothes. There are decent accommodations available if you plan to stay overnight at the lake side.

Note: *Not for the faint-hearted*

I went there in -30 degrees celsius and it was simply unbelievable, I found some lovely cab mates to share my ride with and I must tell you the way to Pangong is through the second highest Motorable road in the world, Chang La pass. The army on the way is quite humble and every ready to help. You should not miss it if you are in the valley

We visited Pangong Tso after trekking there from Leh. First impression : fantastic views over the lake to the surrounding mountain. BUT : then we realised how crowded the lake shore was. For me all the way up to Spangmik the nature is ruined. We proceeded some kilometers further along the lake to Man / Merak. Only a few tourists were there, the villages still looked like villages, not like huge tourist camps or detention centers. We stayed a few days in Man and enjoyed some long walks along the lake shore. Now we really can say : Pangong Tso offers a fantastic landscape and is worthwhile a longer stay.

Its a beautiful lake about 140 km in length at an altitude of 4400m asl. One third lake in India and rest in Tibet/China. The water is so crystal clear and colour changes in bright sunlight. One can see different shades of mountains in bright sunlight. On the way to Pangong lake from Leh we could see Marmot and Yaks and also beautiful flowers. Distance of Pangong lake from Leh is not much but it takes about 5-6 hrs from Leh, due to bad road condition. The roads are landslide prone. But the destination is ULTIMATE. Night halt is must because of tiring journey. You need to carry heavy woolen clothes due to sub-zero night temperatures.
