I stayed with my family at the RK Sarovar Portico and it was a terrible experience. Firstly, RK stands for The Royal Khazir, named by the previous owners apparently. Thereafter, apparently the Sarovar Portico Group took it over from them.
To be honest, the location of this property as well as the rooms are NICE. The biggest drawback is the untrained staff who do not have proper knowledge of how to serve customers and make them feel at home. We had a package that had breakfast and dinner included in the room price. When we went for dinner to their restaurant, there was only 1 couple sitting there. Hence, there was no heavy workload on the staff there. Still everything that happened there was at a snail's pace. One vegetable came, there was no bread along with it. We waited for the bread to come. After the bread came and we were about halfway done, the 2nd vegetable came. The salad cme right at the fag end. To top it all,we clearly told the waiter we were vegetarian. One dish that he got was non-vegetarian. Luckily, we found out before anyone ate. I had to actually get up and go over to the other staff and shout loudly to complain about the service we were getting. The kitchen of the restaurant is on the ground floor whereas the restaurant is on the 3rd floor.
Many small incidents also happened. I do not recommend this hotel.
