Staff are friendly and helpful and check in was done efficiently. Our room was spacious and clean and overlooked the river and forest. So serene and peaceful. Easy to get into the market area. All along the road are little local shops with friendly storekeepers. The food was good at the hotel if you don't feel like going out. Don't bank on room service as the staff are a bit slow in this area. Needless to say that if we needed anything other than food the service was good. There is Internet but I found that the reception was poor and battled to connect but I'm not emplaning as I did not pay for this.

Reception : Friendly
Location : About 10mins drive to the local market where one can easily do some shopping. Quiet location tho' some construction work was going on that broke the silence of the rather quiet surroundings.
Room : I was in room 307. I have no complaints at all. Room had a great view of the river and the mountainous range. Bed was very comfortable, white, clean sheets provided, the mattress was comfortable to sleep on. Bedroom slippers were provided too. The portable heater made our nights very comfortable as it sure was cold outside.
Bathroom/Toilet : Excellent...very clean and good supply of hot water for a great shower.
Having tea-coffee facility and a bottle of mineral water allowed us to have some hot drinks in the room.
Breakfast : Ala-carte : Choice of Western and Indian. Good n tasty.

Room Tip: Ask for upper floors. Also, do have your torch by your bedside due to frequent power failures.

like other sarovar portico's this is also one good hotel. We got our room facing the Beas river. beatiful view, in the evening its even more amazing. the sound of the river gushing is so pleasant. The road to the hotel is become very congested but once inside its great. The food was also very good. the rooms are very spacious and good, well maintained hotel. Overall a good stay in Manali.

Room Tip: ask for a river view rooms, overall all rooms are good.

I stayed at the Sarovar Portico for 3 days as part of a larger tour party. The stay was conformable and staff were extremely friendly and responsive.

The standout experience here was definitely the food. Nice, tasty food. Every single day. We used to come back from our sight-seeing trips looking forward to the next meal from the Sarovar Portico kitchens.... and they were always great!.

Had a kid in our party who was sick, and the Sarovar Portico chef used to make sure to cook something extra for her since she could not eat the regular food.

I had stayed in Hotel Sarovar Portico for 2 nights and 3 days. Had a very average experience. Service is below average and the house keeping staff is very slow. Food is good but is over priced. I don't think this hotel is worth the money you need to shell out.

Room Tip: Choose rooms on the top floor and towards the corner. All the rooms are of different size. Room numb...
