We had stayed here for 4 days. The room was good and clean. Food was excellent. Must mention Hrudai who serves at the restaurant. He is the best in this resort along with the chef offcourse. The drawback of this resort is no great view from the balcony and the place does not have anything to be really mention. I met the owners they are sweet people. I think if the owners put their creativity together, they can make it a better place. Raju Banon I am sure you will take this as a constructive feedback.

Room Tip: Go for Cottages. Main building does not have any views.

We (me and my fiancé) stayed at the Banon Resorts in Manali last week for a period of 4 nights. We booked our trip through Manaliwonder.com and were able to get a fine booking arrangement at decent cost. They even arranged for the travel stuff (pick up and drop) and thus ensured an end to end solution for us.

The Banon Resort was located quite far away from the main street in Manali, being situated near New Hope Orchards’ town center but the positive aspect of this remoteness was that a country side charm was created and the commotion of the main hub was avoided. Moreover the main street was close enough and you could walk onto the street within 5-7 minutes.

The resort was located on a sprawling heritage property and the smell of the old furniture was distinct. Early morning walks in the gardens was really awesome and something definitely not to be missed.

Our room was on the ground floor and was real big. The woodwork and other interiors were done beautifully. It was a tranquil feeling looking at the mountains from our attached balcony and the surrounding garden. All other essential amenities were present in the room and the crew worked overtime to ensure our well being.

Moreover, each evening the staff lit a bonfire sort of arrangement in the hall area by the side of the dining table. Our supper was delivered there and we had a great time given the chill which generally descends by the twilight. Breakfast on the open terrace of the main building was enjoyable too.

Thus based on our experience, we felt that the Banon Resort tends to transcend you to a different world and once you start to absorb the ambience you are sure to have a good time.

Though a lot of thought and intent seems to have gone into developing the property, maintenance seems to be an issue. Though the rooms are very spacious and have a nice sit-out with pretty views of snow capped mountains, one cant help noticing things like a chair with a badly shredded back (almost seems like a coupla rats feasted on it) and a bad paint job of the bathroom roof, in an apparent bid to hide the black spots. Quality of Housekeeping was especially bad. Food was below average (dal-chawal and desserts being the only redeeming factors).

This resort is located on the circuit house road which is about 500 meters from the mall road and a km from the private bus stop. A nice, clean resort that meets the requirements. I was in 101 which had a good upgraded bathroom. Earlier was allotted 201 but the bathroom was not that good. Complimentary breakfast good. Service was good.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms that have modern bathrooms.

We stayed in the cottage. What an experience ! Relax infront of the orchard or on the balcony and absorb the awesome view of dhauladhar mountains. You can't go wrong with the location . Its as far from the main hustle bustle as you want to be while on holiday yet as close for you to enjoy the local life. The best part is you dont feel you are in a hotel. It feels like a small family home ! Service is not the best that I have seen , but hey , whose complaining. Lovely staff, awesome view, convenient location..what else do you need on a holiday ! Highly recommended for anyone travelling to manali.

Room Tip: Stay in a cottage and not in regular rooms.

I stay with the Banons since I came first to Manali in 1993, and I always felt like home here. The staff is long staying and very special, service always with a smile. The cottages are very comfy, cozy, well designed and now all renovated up the latest international standards. The garden is something out of this world, the views are magic, I love the well stocked bar and the billiard on the terrace, the cafeteria, anything. And best is the personal tough from the owner, Mr. Raju Banon who always makes me feel like I am a true friend. This place is highly recommended.

Room Tip: Cottage No. 102 is my favourite..
