There is a lot that you can do at Solang, the only condition is that you have to be there very early to find a parking spot close to the valley attractions. On an average day, cars could be seen parked as far as a few kilometers away from the main attractions, and that would mean that you have to either walk up the distance, or rent a mule.. Both of which are not the best options!

Have a cup of tea, enjoy a few plates of maggie, do some para sailing, ride snow scooters, and stay "AWAY" from the ski lessons!

When visiting Manali, especially to enjoy the snowcapped mountains and the chilled weather, then this is a must visit place. Solang valley not only allows tourists to enjoy playing in snow, but it offers many other adventure activities for the enthusiasts like ice skiing, scooter riding, para gliding, tube sliding and many other stuffs. But the only thing that tourists should be aware of is the kind of packages people offer and cheat the holidaymakers. If you wish to rent snow dress with boots, you must bargain. Some shopkeepers might charge you Rs. 500 per dress, while others may give it to you in just Rs. 100 after negotiating. Same is the case with adventure activities, as well. So, tourists can always check the rates with four five vendors and then come to a decision. This will also help them bargain.

Visited Solang Valley on the 26th March with family and it was covered with snow even then. There are few places in India where you can find snow in March end. There are lots of adventure activities which included snow bikes, ATV(all terrain vehicles),skiing, parasailing(if the whether is clear, and a ski lift which i think is very expensive @ Rs 500/- per person though the view from top of it is breathtaking. For adventure you should bargain a lot, for example on the way to Solang i was frequently suggested by many people that i take a skiing package which would very nice and were asking Rs 2500 for it and came down to 1500 but even then i decided to go on my own as i was familiar with place. And to all your surprise i got the ski lesson for my kid(14 years) for a mere Rs 100/-. So you can see how long it goes. Snow bikes were bit expensive at Rs 400/- for a km of ride but worth it as the vehicle was new one though they ask for 1000 but i think my timing was bit off season but i still found it bit crowded. You can't help as it is one of the places which is not only blessed with beauty but also accessible to elderly and children as well.
