A friend and I decided to drive down to Manali on a lark, and we stumbled on Pause while searching for places to stay on tripadvisor. We reached late at night, and my friend had a splitting headache. But the guys had everything ready - a Saridon, a hot cup of tea, and an amazing room! Come morning, and the view was to die for. Friendly staff & great food were the icing on the cake. Thank you Rohit/Manu/Jatin. We will stay at Pause whenever we are in Manali next. Hopefully sooner than later.

We as a family really enjoyed ourselves at pause. The place has only 9 rooms but very spacious with excellent bedding. Its about a 15 minute up drive on Kanyal Road / Hill, the view from the property is excellent. On one side the river bias flows which is seen and heard very clearly throughout the night, the other side one gets to see the rohtang range and front the whole manali city. Very spacious open common balconies for people to sit and enjoy, 2nd floor has private balconies but as a family we preferred the large balcony on 1st floor.

If you love simple Indian veg and non veg food, you will love the food here, its simple and very fresh. we requested for conti food one of the nights and they served us which again was good. In a nut shell a perfect place to come back to in the evenings after whole day treks and sight seeing. would definitely visit again..............thanx pause for a good holiday

Room Tip: Take front facing rooms as they open directly into common balcony. Alternatively take rooms on 2nd f...

Arriving in Manali from a long hard road trip down from Leh, Ladakh - we spent the first night in a small hotel by the bus station. Moved into Pause @ Manali the very next morning and what a great choice it turned out to be.

Located half-way up the hill - a short distance from the heart of the busy Manali town centre - Pause gives truly panoramic views and the only real sounds are those of the fast flowing Beas river down below and the odd tuk tuk winding its way slowly up the hill..

We stayed in late July - the property is set in it's own orchard and the trees were full of apples & pears.

Manu the resident partner hails from an F&B background and it certainly shows. We arranged a small dinner party from friends made on the way - and my young son - two weeks later - still refers to it as 'awesome'.

There is much development going on it Manali - I would recommend the rooms on the top (2nd) floor facing the valley - with private balconies and the amazing views. The first floor also has great rooms and a huge shared balcony great for interacting with other guests.

There's a great 'downhill' walk right from Pause, down to Manali, going through the woods. About 30 mins and you are in the heart of town - highly recommended even for couch potatoes like me. Coming back we took tuk-tuks (autorickshaws) that take about the same amount of time to wind slowly up the hill.

You get both cable & satellite TV and they have a good internet connection, piping hot water, great beds, excellent food and caring staff - combined with the location it is one of THE places to stay in Manali

Room Tip: It's a small place with 9 rooms I think. The rooms are large and very well appointed - I feel th...

It was a terrific experience staying at PAUSE , away from the maddening crowd , on the top of the hill....overlooking a breath taking view.....making you speechless as well ! Coupled with majestic location is the warmth of the hospitable staff who are very courteous and child friendly ! Thoroughly lived every moment of my stay at PAUSE ...the incessant sound of the Beas and the crisp fresh air that you wish, one would live in forever.........
A place worth visiting indeed.....
Thankyou Pause.

We stayed at manali for 4 nights. Its located at a height from the main road which on hindsight turns out to be a much sought after blessing. Pause offers an outstanding view of Manali - the hills and the river. Very peaceful and spacious accommodation and an ever courteous and helpful staff. Food can be cooked on order or of your liking. IN A NUTSHELL VERY PEACEFUL AND VALUE FOR MONEY HOLIDAY.

We stayed at Pause for one night in June 2012. On the way to Pause, we realised it is literally on the hill-top! The location is indeed a great asset. The view from the common balcony is awesome. One can actually hear the sound of Beas river flowing down. At night, sitting in the balcony (which had very comfortable bean bags to sit on), we have a great view of the entire valley with lights twinkling...it was very peaceful. The staff is very warm and friendly - Sham, Jatin and not to forget Manu, the owner. He was most gracious and helpful. We had a very engaging chat with him about he came about the place. Pause is just two months old, I am sure it will rise to great heights in the coming years. The food was also good and home made. The only negative factor about the place was the common balcony, which I thought invaded our privacy, but with management's help, it could also be sorted out. Thanks for a great stay@ Pause!

Room Tip: Try to choose the upper rooms (2nd Floor)
