A very peaceful place surrounded by apple orchards, mountains, a river, a family garden with home grown vegetables and the ambience of being in the lap of nature !! The owners are a wonderful family trying their best to make things comfortable and homely for you !! Rooms are tidy and so are the bathrooms (300 for double with shared bathroom). The owner was very helpful with all the useful information about Manali and places nearby. Food is really good and the best thing is having food with the family :)

Room Tip: Rooms on the first floor offer better view of the panorama

this is a truly great place!
it is set in a really quite location among apple orchards and vegetable gardens, from where you can only hear the sound of the river and therefore enjoy peaceful nights! it's also quite close to old manali backpacker hangout area but it still feels far away from his touristic madness!
they have good rooms with bathroom (500Rs double) and others with shared bath (300Rs double), all clean and good-value (the shared bathrooms have 24h hot water). there is free wi-fi, a laundry service, a cheap home-restaurant with indian food, breakfast and some continental dishes. the owner and his family are extremely friendly, nice and helpful. mr. rabet will give you all the info you need about manali and the bus trips (deluxe or government-local buses) to spiti, leh and so on and he also will take you for a nice walk among his apple trees!

Just returned from my tour to Manali and Rohtang. Stayed at Apple View guest house. The rooms are large, clean and very basic. the best part: No TV :). The owner, Mr. Ram Thakur and his family run the guest house. The guests get whatever is cooked in house. You can place order if you want something not on menu. Mr Thakur cooks food himself. Trust me the food is to die for. The room rates are cheat at Rs 400 for the rooms with shared washrooms and Rs 600 for the ones with attached washrooms. The owner himself is an avid traveller and trekker. He visits places so that he could provide a first hand information about it to the guests. There is a large sitting area in the front with apple trees around and an awesome view of the valley from the top.

Room Tip: This place is booked year round. So you need to make booking atleast 15 days in advance, The owner will share his bank account details and you can transfer money online.

Stayed here based a friend's recommendation and so very grateful for it!

Rooms are great - basic, but large and clean. There are nice places to sit and meet other guests, and the owner and staff who are so so friendly cook cheap and simple food if you don't feel like venturing out.

Every night I fell asleep to the sound of the rushing river, which makes a change in India. There are beautiful views of the mountains from the guesthouse on clear days, and the immediate surrounds are lovely too, with the apple orchards all around.

The location itself is near the Clubhouse, but up some steps and on a ridge that is a million miles off from that absurd centre of domestic tourism, away from the horrid traffic jams that lead to it, and it is only a 10 min walk to the nicer parts of Old Manali.

The friendliness of the owners and the beauty of the location cannot be overstated, cannot think of anywhere else in Old Manali I would rather stay.

After Delhi and Chandigargh - AppleView was exactly what we wanted - quiet, calm, extremely friendly family and the most gorgeous views of the mountains and sound of the river.

We only had a short stay at AppleView, and it was our favourite guesthouse on the trip - in fact stayed there twice, on our way to and from Leh.

The rooms are large and basic (but where isn't for 200 rupees), but very homely. HOT showers - which were very welcome after a week of luke warm. We really recommend this haven.
