We had booked a room for last week. Neither the proprietor nor the manager were on site, and the young guy left in charge had been left ill prepared for our arrival. He tried his best to make us comfortable but the room was freezing. He upgraded us to a cottage but even with a log fire (we had to pay extra for the wood) it was still freezing. I know that Manali in winter is cold but feel that some preparation for our arrival would have been good. He had no money to buy breakfast items and our driver went out and bought these the next morning.
The place is beautiful, but definitely not worth the money in our opinion. Especially as we checked out after one night to stay somewhere warmer, paying double as we wanted our 7 night stay to be comfortable. Advice to the proprietor- consider closing off season if you can't ensure your guest's comfort! Perhaps you would consider giving us a refund?
