I visited Manali in July 2012 and stayed at Johnson's Lodge. The whole duration of stay was just amazing and have unforgettable sweet memories about the place. We really loved the food being served. The most important thing i loved is that you can actually ask them to cook food according to your choice/taste. I like spicy food whereas my wife don't even touch spicy food. The rooms & washrooms are neat & clean. The staff is quite nice and very warm. I enjoyed my stay and would love to revisit them sometime.

While on a trek to Beas Kund we stayed here for a night and throughly enjoyed ourselves. The staff is good and place is quite and nice. The trout they serve is to die for. I recommend all their trout dishes although my favourite is cooked in beer.

In my view definatey one of the best places to stay.

Room Tip: Choose any room but if you are a non vegetarian don't miss the trout.

After arriving more than 6 hrs later than the usual check-in time (we informed them of the same twice, well in advance) the room (we booked a Luxury room) that we were allotted to was not ready AT ALL for a check-in. NOTHING was in place. Very big room with almost no furniture apart from the bare minimum. Central attraction is a ridiculously over-sized bed for which they did not even have a big enough bed sheet...Also all the wooden furniture were painted a ridiculous lilac/lavender, with tape stuck to it in a random order. A modern art nigtmare or sorts. The front office staff is DUMB (for lack of a better word, sorry), unhelpful and non-responsive to the core. By day 2 they started to avoid eye-contact and if asked a question, would start to blabber incoherantly and look more confused than a monkey on a skate-board ;-) PLZ AVOID THIS ONE.. Total RIP-OFF, zero Wi-Fi connectivity is an added advantage. The music from the bar is disquietning and due to its thin walls can get noisy if you have loud neighbours. Housekeeping is available only after sufficient pleading from the guest. The exterior charm of the property is 100% deceptive. The rooms do not look like the ones in the website
Room service is acceptable and the food is quite good (thank heavens for that!!). Its very close to the New Manali mall.

Room Tip: I`m sure if thats even possible.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking time to review our lodge and for sharing your valuable feedback. We’re really sorry for not meeting your expectations. We try our level best to deliver great service to all our guests but we are sure that there is always some scope for improvement. Although we are disappointed to know that we could not meet your expectations. We truly value the opinions and suggestions as this helps us to improve our services.

We discussed the issues with our front office and house-keeping staff and have since tried to further improve our standard operating procedures. We are again sorry for any inconvenience caused.

We have 2 Wireless Routers to provide adequate WIFI coverage throughout our property, however the BSNL broadband supply is very erratic. You can not hold that against us. Having accepted the above, we think its highly unfair on your part to call our staff “DUMB”.... the use of such language is totally uncalled for in a professional setting. You can not expect good service from us when you go around demeaning our staff. And am sure this will hold true in any setting.

The room design is very subjective. And we already have the pictures of our renovated rooms uploaded on our website. Regarding night parties, we have restricted ourselves to Saturday night’s only and we play lounge music or acoustic live music on other nights till 11pm only.
We are happy to know that you liked the food in our restaurant. We have further improved our menu by adding authentic Italian cuisine and hiring the services of an experienced Italian chef.

We apologise again for the experience you had at our lodge .We hope you will give us the opportunity to serve you again.

With Regards,
Johnson Lodge Team!

Johnson’s Lodge is located very near to the bus stand and the market of Manali ,though, it is little far from Old Manali. The hotel is high on aesthetic quotient and is very tastefully done. The whole place has a serene and relaxed feel to it.

The reception desk as well as the staff are warm and helpful. The rooms are big and have a warm feel because of the wooden flooring. Each room has a seating space and a huge window. Bathrooms are also quite tastefully done. The rooms are clean and very well maintained.

The food delights your taste buds. It serves some wondeful dishes of Trout (a fresh water fish). Most of the continental dishes are just near to perfect in taste as well as presentation.
All in all it is a must stay place if one visits Manali.

One of the best place to stay in Manali
Just 5 mins walk from The Mall
The rooms are beautiful and spaceous and the view is awsome from the room.
The economical aspect adds icing on the cake.
The evening events are lot of fun either it be dance party or live music or candle light in the lawn
The pool table kept my husband engaged while i was busy shopping at the Mall
Food is a bit expensive but the variety and taste is good
I would definitely like to return back

Room Tip: 3rd floor rooms are cottage style with a great view and lot of space and ofcourse king size bed
