The log huts are the best posible location in Manali, up in the hill, away from town, near the Hadimba Temple. The log huts are fully covered with plants and has glass fittings to see the outside. Each hut comes with a small garden with a tea table with chairs and a swing. All the huts have drive and park facility inside the small campus. Rooms were spacious and well furnished.
There is a self cooking facility provided in the hut but it was not maintained well. Food is served from the central Restaurant and they do service rooms but we found it to be overpriced. There are many eat out options downtown with in 10mins walking distance. The central club house is also nearby. One can take the stairs to the down hill bridge rather than walking on the road.
The sleep is nice with the natural sound of the flowing river near by. You wake up to the chirping of birds. Though it lacked a bit on the service front, we loved the government run facility. I would recommend it to the fellow travelers.
