“A Place in Nature”

The log huts are the best posible location in Manali, up in the hill, away from town, near the Hadimba Temple. The log huts are fully covered with plants and has glass fittings to see the outside. Each hut comes with a small garden with a tea table with chairs and a swing. All the huts have drive and park facility inside the small campus. Rooms were spacious and well furnished.

There is a self cooking facility provided in the hut but it was not maintained well. Food is served from the central Restaurant and they do service rooms but we found it to be overpriced. There are many eat out options downtown with in 10mins walking distance. The central club house is also nearby. One can take the stairs to the down hill bridge rather than walking on the road.

The sleep is nice with the natural sound of the flowing river near by. You wake up to the chirping of birds. Though it lacked a bit on the service front, we loved the government run facility. I would recommend it to the fellow travelers.

Room Tip: We got 35% discount as it was off-peak season. Do check the rates online/ask for discount at the rec...

Staying in log hut was a different experience. Usually when we travel we eat hotel food. But in log hut with kitchen facility we cooked out food. It was awesome experience for us and kids. We had gone to market purchase all item for cooking and did cooking. Hotel location is good and children having lot of space to enjoy. If you want different experience and you are travelling on your vehicle then this place is worth to try.

Location - Very good.
Two bedroom, hall/dining, kitchen, with utensils and a gas stove with gas cylinder - awesome, after few days of restaurant food, it was fun eating cooked food. Also a fire place outside - very good.

The surrounding is good as well with apple trees and apricot trees. The club house is very near as well.

Over all - four days of fun in this hotel. Very good location and very good cottages. We stayed in Cottage 2.

The Log Huts are ideally located away from the crowded city of Manali. Well appointed and well maintained. The view from the Premium huts is stunning. All around there are fruit trees and pine forests. One can not find such a spacious accommodation in all of Manali. All the log huts have two bed rooms with a living room and a kitchen and private garden. Pleasantly surprised by the upkeep of this state run resort. Stayed in 2 log huts out of the 3 premium huts and both were good. To top it up one could pluck ripe cherries from the trees around the huts.

Room Tip: Opt for Log Huts 1, 2 and 3 as they have the best location. Even the Orchard huts are good.

we stayed in log huts no.6 for 4 days in april . the property is well located about 2 km from main manali bazaar . it has 2 bed rooms with hall and kitchen with cooking facility . we utilised this facility as it was fun and were craving for home made simple food after having hotel/outside food for last few days. place provides you perfect peace and serene environment . sight seeing points like hadimba temple , manu temple and club house are within 2 kms .
the main issue over there is of power cut and there is no power back up for the cottages . in our 4 day stay every night was power cut and on our 4th day there was no electricity for the whole night. with shivering cold it became quite difficult to spent the night without electric heaters . as i was staying with my old parents and very young kids decided to shorten my stay here by one day .
Also there is a serious issue of insects . we found scorpion in one of the bed room . same was reported from cottage no.4 where more than 2 scorpions were found .staff was clueless about it .
if these issues can be resolved by himachal tourism , stay at log huts can be rewarding .

Room Tip: insist for log huts no.1 ,2 or 3 as these are well maintained compared to other cottages .

We stayed here for a few wonderful days. The hut was an independent cottage with all facilities for cooking etc though we didn't have time to do it! We ordered breakfast and dinner at the hut. It had a superb view of the mountains and was secluded from the public, a very quiet and relaxed place. It became a little cold and the bearer was good enough to provide us with hot water bottles!

Room Tip: Try and get a hut which gets the sun in the morning, otherwise a little chilly!
