I always post the same disclaimer at the beginning of all my reviews.... my rating is based on the price as compared to other things in the area.
For that reason, Naivedyam is easily a 5... although in this case, it would warrant a 5 regardless of the crappy competition. After seeing some of the other reviews, it seems like people are reviewing 2 different restaurants. My review pertains to the Naivedyam in Hauz Khas Village, NOT Gurgaon. It's a 10-minute walk from Green Park, an historically Jain market (i.e. almost total veg). Green Park Market has several south Indian restaurants (2 of which are huge institutions - A. Bhavan and Evergreen), so you'd think the dosas would be the best in Delhi. Wrong, they are terrible. So, thankfully I stumbled across Naivedyam. It's better than the rest, and it stands on it's own. Although I was in the very tastefully done restaurant to pick up a take-out menu, I've only had their food delivered to my flat. Even then, not being fresh out of the kitchen, it was easily the best South Indian I've had in Delhi, served on banana leaves no less.
