Went on a business meeting. Service was rather slow. Considering the price that the restaurant charges was expecting better support.

They didn't follow instructions either. I asked for food without chilly, they accepted the order but was very dissapointed.

Food was either not served at all or came very late. The one which came had chillies.

Visited the Kabak Factory at Park Plaza in Gurgoan with great expectations. Recalling the excellent fare served at the Radisson Delhi and the Radisson Ranchi outlet of the chain, I was quite lokoking forward to a sumptuous meal. Regrettably, the restraunt failed to live upto the expectations of the party comprising three non vengetarians and one vegetarian.

Location is an advantage that the restaurant enjos. It is within five minutes walk from the Huda City Centre Metro station ( the last station on the Yellow line of Delhi metro). For those arriving by car, parking is not a problem as valet parking is available.

That the restraunt is very popular can be gauged by the number of persons waiting for a table even on a Monday evening. If you plan to visit the place ( not recommended ) it may be a good idea to reserve a table.

On the Monday evening that I visited, the place was packed with large office groups and a smattering of families. Expats were persent in decent numbers and seemed to be having a good time. The loud chatter and spontaneous bursts of laughter would seem to indicate that a good time was being had by all present.

The food served was extremely disappointing. The laughter, I suspect, was largely on account of liberal intake of alchohol which is an itegral part of all Delhi office parties. The restaurant serves fixed menu meals comprising largely of kabas. The kabab Factory is widely considered to be a carnovore's delight though for the vegetarians the experience is somewhat less exciting as the concept of the kabab is a quintessentially a meat - fish - chicken thing with no comparable vegetarian offerings.

The service is efficient and courteous and the restaurant has a pleasant ambience. The food, however, leaves a lot to be desired. Most kababchis in the lanes of the cities of my native Uttar Pradesh can serve better stuff at a fraction of the price. There are only three things that you need to control in producing a tasty kabab - the quality of the ingredients, the constitution of the marinade and the control of heat in the cooking process. While the ingredients seemed reasonably fresh, the marinade used can do with definite improvement. The taste of the kababs was killed by excessive use of spices and as for the heat management, critical component in producing a great kabab was particularly deficient. Consequenly, the kabas were overdone on the outside and grossly underdone on the inside. Kababs cooked on the tawa - the gilauti for instance - needs to be nutrured on a slow fire for a long time to get it just right. The chefs at The Factory seemed to be entirely oblivious of this fundamental requirement of kabab making.

On the positive side, the yellow dal served with roti/naan/paratha was the best item on the table, a sad comment on a place that prides itself on its kababs. Of the desserts, while the Gulab jamun was excellent, the kulfi seemed to have been prepared from inadequatlye thickened milk. All in all a rather disappointing experience.

The prices at the restaurant are outrageous, which is probably why most of the tables were taken up by office groups and expatriates A meal for four with just a bottle of beer came to just under 100 Euros, a large sum of money in the Indian context.

I visited this restaurant for a business meeting with a potential prospect of mine who had come with his European Manager.
1. Getting a table: I could easily locate their phone nos and get a reservation for a table. Good point for the restaurant. Seated us politely when we landed up.
2. Poor Service:
- Despite clear communication, that the European visitor wants the kebabs to be done with minimum spices, they continued to serve really spicy stuff which made the experience of the guest really torrid.
- Had to wait interminably and remind multiple times for the food to be served.
- The desser took forever to be served, by which time one of the guest had to leave without having it because of the next meeting.
3. On complaining, they apologised and packed and gave us one of the dessert to take it that guest, but then, you know, the whole experience was a let down. They also waived off charges of that guest. You know what, we did not come to GKF to wing a discount. We came for a great dining experience while doing our business discussions. The discount is of insignificance compared to the value of our meeting.

Well I hope they become more attentive. For the money they charge, they must deliver the experience.

They feed you with care, and you can keep eating until your stomach bursts. The kebabs are tasty, however not the best that one can get in delhi. They have some decent selection of alcohol. Desserts are good, and often people go straight from starters to desserts, having over indulged oneself with the former.
