I'm a frequent visitor mostly during lunch hours as my residence is just across. The outlet is very new but they have a very dedicated Japanese owner and he is seen during most hours trying to do his bit.
The place is fairly small on the 2nd floor of South Point mall. The mall itself is well located but not the most well known as compared to the more established ones. But being right at Golf course road with quite a fair bit of expats and Japanese residents around should help in the long run.
I think it's always a challenge for a Japanese restaurant to firmly establish itself as the locals are still not familiar, and the pricing is another big hurdle as it is even more than offered elsewhere in cities such as Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok.
I believe they are marketing mostly on referrals but they need to offer attractive lunch sets and also include such popular items as California hand rolls.
All in all a restaurant that offers the genuine taste of Japan and have potential to do better provided it can rapidly build up a loyal following.
