To keep the Food & Beverage alive and kicking Chefs are really working hard, exploring and trying to offer something new and interesting to the guests. It's the "Street Food of India" which is the food promotion happening at the Double Tree by Hilton Gurgaon, where young Chef Puneet Sethi, Shaleen Gambhir F& B Manager and Nupur Gupta Mktg Manager with their team are all very enthusiastic and doing a great job. All HM institute's trainees have been given the opportunity to be at the forefront and handling the live counters at the restaurant and happy serving the guests.

It's a ten days event from 21st till 30th September' 18 where they are showcasing the cuisine of different regions of India and last night we relished the street food of Bihar, Bangal & South. Decore matched the theme with rickshaw placed at the entrance of the outlet and all the live food counters were on carts which are integral part of the street food.

Shikanji, lemon and Mint water were their to a refreshing start with Jhalmuri famous in Bangal with subtle flavour of mustard oil. Litti chokha the most popular food of Bihar was served hot from the live counter which was mildly spicy keeping the expats in mind.

Uppam with stew a staple diet of southern region was outstanding and I love the coconut milk flavour in the stew. Kothu Parontha of south is another interesting street food one can enjoy. Tomato n aam chutney was yummy with fata parantha.

Parwal stuffed with prawns looked cute and tasted good, So was the Taash - A Naplese style lamb kebab served with poha. Lemon rice and egg rice are also part of the Buffet one can relish.

For that sweet tooth.. raw banana halwa n among daal halwa are must have and really delicious to the core. It's on till this weekend so enough time for all of you who love street food...infact we all !!!

Double Tree By Hilton, Asia Alive, Gurugram....

INDIAN STREET FOOD FEST .......ten days fest is on from 21st Sept to 30th Sept, 2018.
Ready to eat food on the streets, everywhere, brought on Food Carts, Food Trucks. Generally the lipsmaking food and irresistible, one can have any time of the day, most of the time, it's not hunger, just the look or aroma of the food tempts you to have it, at the same time you just ignore the hygiene part.

Hoteliers are trying their best to bring out the delicacies from the remote areas for the guests here, some  of them, people are forgetting also.

Asia Alive.....has brought this Street Food for the guests where one can indulge oneself without any guilt, as the food is prepared hygienecally with research and trials. The tastes is practically as close to the local delicacies as possible. Every day the menu is changing, from different states of the country.

Yesterday it was PURVANCHAL and SOUTH INDIA Street food day. We had very popular KOTTU PARANTHA, APAAM from South LITTI CHOKHA from Purvanchal. POTOLER DORMA.....Parwal stuffed with Prawn and spices. TAAS KEBAB......is served with Poha, the flat rice. JHALMURI. EGG RICE & LEMON RICE.

MOONG DAL HALWA & RAW BANANA HALWA.....this I had it for the first time and relished it to the core.

Few days left to get an experience here.

I went there for lunch and I have become a big fan of Asia Alive, their pan-asian themed restaurant. I hope my review title is not too misleading, I just wished to convey the comfortable warmth that the food and service staff made me feel during my visit. The Make Your Own Food counter was extremely fascinating, not to mention the wide rage of the buffet and a la carte menu. The staff is very helpful and willing to guide you through any doubts or possible discomforts. I would certainly recommend trying the Make Your Own Food counter where you can pick out the ingredients, condiments, broth, etc. and watch the chef make something delicious out of those for you, as per your taste.
