Pirates of Grill - Location at best on ground floor on one of the dead malls. So there was no crowd inside the mall, as expected. It was all empty in the restaurant, so we got the table very easily. Table was bit uncomfortable. Height must have been bit less. Food started as it is unlimited concept restaurant. They served us 5 veg and 5 non veg starters. Taste was good. Food was not spicy and felt good. Then there were swords around with Pineapple and chicken drumsticks. WOW that was really good and we tried more.
Though after grabbing beer and so much of starters we were full, still we passed on through the buffet. Nice layout, tried few dishes and they were tasting good. Desserts were not appetizing still we tried 2 of them and it was not good. As I said "We were full", so may be that was the actual case.
Meals are not pricey for the variety they are serving. Only complaint staff is not courteous. We can easily hear their conversations and when we are calling them they were deaf ears. So, that should be improved. Else we can enjoy the same.

This is going to be a very short review. The food was lousy and the service even worse than the food.
The prawns and the mutton seekh kebabs were uncooked. The chicken dishes were very oily. The Fish was old and frozen fish from god knows how long before. The only saving grace of the entire restaurant was the Vanilla Ice-Cream (branded company product though)
The waiters were very rude and since we were a group of 15 people, they actually spent 5 minutes arguing with us to get all the Veg guys to sit on one table and the Non Veg guys to sit on another table. You get one drink complimentary with the lunch spread and when we ordered another drink mid way, at least 4 people came up to us and reminded us that the drinks would be chargeable.
Will definitely never go here again and will not recommend it to anyone else!

I along with my office colleagues visited this place on 27 December 2012. We took their lunch buffet (Rs. 399 plus taxes, overall Rs. 490 per head with a complimentary drink). The price is same whether you eat veg or non-veg. The place was packed even on a weekday and we kind of anticipated it. Hence booking your table in advance is must. Also, try to reach there as per the given time to get an adequate size table. Even though the staff do try their best to manage even if you’re arriving late or early.

Ambience – very good. Spacious, adequately spaced tables. Ample crowd, yet no confusion. The only resemblance to the “pirates” theme however was the serving water bottle, the uniform of the serving staff and a few odd paintings of ships on the ceiling. Never mind, lets get down to penning what we went for - Food.

In short, really really tasty. I would primarily comment on veg as that is what I had, but you can easily reciprocate the same for non-veg based on the feedback of my non vegetarian friends.

Drink
Virgin Mojito (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic served) – Good tasty thirst quencher even in winters.
You have can beer, soft drinks and fresh lime as the other options.

Starters
Salsa potato – Must have.
Spinach kababs – soft, juicy, crisp – excellent
Paneer tikka – Good
Barbequed pineapple – very good
Barbequed mushroom – standard
Grilled vegetables – average

Main course
Macroni salad – very good.
Other salads - average
Sarson ka saag, makki ki roti – The surprise element – Excellent – I say this as normally this is found tasty only when home cooked.
Dal makhani – Rich
Choley - Good
A Mushroom gravy – Good again.
Chinese – Dumplings in basil sauce – even though they were more like Manchurian than real dumplings, but still good.

Desserts
Chocolate brownie – Extremely good
Gulab jamun – Pretty good
Kheer – more like phirni – Very good
Lemon cheese cake – avoidable
Apple Tart – avoidable
Plus there were fresh fruits, ice cream, and a chocolate mousse to pick from.

The only turn off was the one serving staff was a little rough in tone while taking the orders for the drinks though he served well otherwise throughout. Ignorable considering the amount of workload these guys have in rush time.

Overall, must recommended place for couples, families, office lunches or just hang out with friends. 4.5 on 5 for me.

We visited Pirate of Grill Gurgaon last week in a group of 15. The food was fantastic, different options as compared to other barbeque restaurants, the flavor was good, but the service left too much desired. The service was very slow. When we tried to complain to the manager, he argued instead of accepting and trying to improve. He said and I quote, 'Serving such a large group will take time. You should have more patience'. I don’t understand this, When the group is large, you can assign more than one servers....! Guess they need to learn something to get repeat business.
