Roots has now become a regular visit for my family to enjoy a lovely breakfast (and lunch isn't too bad either). Preferably visit in cooler months as its one of those places with no air conditioning. Also be prepared for being bothered by flies sometimes, given its an open restaurant. Food wise- simple, non-oily and good to taste fare. I have by now tried almost everything on the menu (which is limited in choice - a good thing actually). They stick to basics - Poha/ Upma are light, great to start with. I find the omelettes very ordinary and bland. The sandwiches are very nice (grilled ones) and I love the coffee they serve. From the lunch menu, Thai curry is adequate. Overall, I like the place as kids have a small park to play, and in winters, its quite lovely with the sun out.
